The Aegean Region of Turkey is located in the western part of the country, bounded by the Aegean Sea to the west and several other regions. It has a population of over 9.5 million. The region contains many mountains such as Mount Ida and plains along rivers. It has a Mediterranean climate along the coast and a continental climate inland. Well-developed road, sea, air, and rail transportation networks connect cities in the region like Izmir, Denizli, and Bodrum.
