 Advertising and marketing aims to persuade
an audience to take some action, generally to
obtain or consume a product or service. It is
driven and focussed on the client and the
client's marketing or advertising need for a
brand or product. It crosses multiple platforms
from broadcast, print, billboard and online.
 There are around 13,000 business in the sector who
produce £6.2 billion of the UK GVA annually.
 59% of people working in advertising have at least
a level 4 qualification and nearly a third have a
level 2 or 3 qualification
 Around 21,500 people work in this core of the
advertising and marketing communications
industry, with the majority of the sector (73%)
working in creative advertising sub-sector,
followed by 25% in the media advertising sub-
sector.
 AMV BBDO-AMV was founded by David Abbott, Peter Mead
and Adrian Vickers. It is the biggest advertising agency in the
UK by revenue. AMV is part of the BBDO network, the third
largest agency network in the world, with 287 offices across 79
countries. BBDO is part of the Omnicom Group.
 Bartle Bogle Hegart- is an advertising agency. Founded in 1982
by British ad men John Bartle, Nigel Bogle, and John Hegarty,
the agency has produced campaigns for many of the world’s
most illustrious brands. BBH has offices in London, New York,
São Paulo, Singapore, Shanghai, Mumbai and Los Angeles and
employs 1000 staff worldwide.
