Abraham had faith in God and obeyed when called to leave his home and travel to an unknown place, not knowing where he was going. He looked forward to a heavenly city built by God. The people mentioned in Hebrews 11 died without receiving God's promises but had faith from a distance, being convinced of them and acknowledging they were strangers on Earth, looking to a better place yet to come.
