The Advent wreath symbolizes God's eternal nature through its circular shape and evergreens representing everlasting life. The four candles represent hope, love, joy and peace and mark the journey of faith from God's first promise to humanity in the Garden of Eden to the fulfillment of that promise with the birth of Jesus Christ.
