16. I think that the Internet is a great invention. We can do a lot of good things with
it. For example, we can get information about any subject matter; all we will
need to do is to put keywords in the search bar of a search engine like Google
and click the search icon to see displayed on your browser thousands of
responses. In addition to this, the Internet allows us to communicate and share
files with other people all over the world by using email, Messenger, Skype and
social media like Facebook. Moreover, we can download from the Internet all
sorts of software, videos, pictures, e-books, e-games and user guides. And this
is not all, because with the Internet we can also read online newspapers and
retrieve daily weather forecasts.
However, the Internet has also a bad side. For instance, while surfing the net,
we may be victims of viruses than can destroy our computer system and
spyware that can steal our personal information. Besides this, navigating on the
Internet can lead to websites where videos, pictures and texts with
inappropriate content are published. Furthermore, when we become addicted to
the Internet, we will neglect our work and our duties. Finally, spending too much
time in front of the computer screen is harmful to our eyes.
