Adrian Lyne is an English film director known for directing sexually charged films such as Fatal Attraction and Nine 1/2 Weeks. Fatal Attraction, released in 1987, tells the story of a married man who has a weekend affair that turns sour when the woman refuses to let it end, stalking and emotionally blackmailing him. The film was a major box office success and received critical acclaim, with six Academy Award nominations including Best Picture and acting nominations for stars Glenn Close and Anne Archer.
