This document discusses a research project analyzing online gambling behavior to identify potentially high-risk gamblers and prevent gambling addiction. It outlines background on the growth of online gambling, potential social issues like addiction, and initial research analyzing gambling frequency, intensity, variability and trajectory. The objective is to utilize visual analytics to more interactively identify high-risk gamblers. It describes datasets on demographics and daily gambling sessions and plans for data transformation. Proposed visualizations include a treemap to hierarchically view metrics filtered by region, age, lifetime, and clusters, and a line graph of bets and stakes over time by reasons for quitting. Technical challenges and a project timeline are also mentioned.
