ABSTRACT
Language barrier is the primary challenge for effective cross-lingual conversations. Spoken language translation (SLT) is perceived as a cost-effective alternative to less affordable human interpreters, but little research has been done on how people interact with such technology. Using a prototype translator application, we performed a formative evaluation to elicit how people interact with the technology and adapt their conversation style. We conducted two sets of studies with a total of 23 pairs (46 participants). Participants worked on storytelling tasks to simulate natural conversations with 3 different interface settings. Our findings show that collocutors naturally adapt their style of speech production and comprehension to compensate for inadequacies in SLT. We conclude the paper with the design guidelines that emerged from the analysis.

This document provides a research report that analyzes and critically evaluates two listed Australian property development companies, Stockland and GPT Group, for an investor considering where to invest capital.
It begins with a brief history of each company and their development strategies. Stockland was founded in 1952 and has a diverse portfolio across various sectors, while GPT was founded in 1971 focusing on providing investment opportunities.
The document then examines the asset structure of each company, finding Stockland has a larger and more diverse portfolio across five sectors totaling $14 billion in assets, compared to GPT's three sector portfolio of $9.3 billion.
Financial performance between 2013-2014 is also critically analyzed, with Stockland shown to
The document discusses optical coherence tomography (OCT) which uses light rather than ultrasound to image tissues. It provides the following key points:
1. OCT emits light pulses into tissue and analyzes the intensity and depth of backscattered light to characterize tissues based on reflectivity and attenuation.
2. OCT provides higher resolution imaging of around 15-20 microns, around 10 times higher than intravascular ultrasound (IVUS), allowing detailed views of intraluminal structures.
3. A limitation is its shallow penetration of around 1.5-2 mm, providing less definition of deep regions like lipid-rich plaques, requiring blood to be displaced for clear imaging.
This document discusses the risks of nitrates in processed foods and drinking water. It notes that while nitrates extend shelf life and lower costs for consumers, they have been linked to health issues like birth defects when government allowances exceed safe levels. The document also indicates that consuming nitrates through processed meats has been associated with increased risks of cancers like pancreatic cancer, and feeding children hot dogs regularly could increase their risk of leukemia by 9 times. It calls for notifying the public more, conducting more research on nitrate risks, finding alternatives to nitrates, and petitioning the government to change nitrate allowances.
This document contains information about performance evaluation methods for a wellness director, including examples of performance review phrases and key performance indicators. It discusses several methods for evaluating a wellness director's performance, such as management by objectives, critical incident reporting, behaviorally anchored rating scales, and 360-degree feedback. Sample phrases are provided to describe employees' strengths and areas for improvement in areas like attitude, creativity, decision-making, interpersonal skills, and teamwork. Guidelines and rating scales are outlined for various performance appraisal techniques.
This document summarizes the different tail types, patterns, and colors found in Betta fish. It discusses 18 different tail types including Veiltail, Crowntail, Halfmoon, Delta, Super Delta, Double Tail, and Plakat. It also covers over 20 different color patterns such as solid colors, bi-colors, marble, butterfly, and multicolor. The document aims to provide a comprehensive overview of the variations seen in Betta fish tails and appearances.

1. DINÀMIQUES D’AUTOCONEIXEMENT I CONEIXEMENT DE L’ALTRE
2. DINÀMIQUES D’AUTOCONEIXEMENT I CONEIXEMENT DE L’ALTRE
company/a no està d’acord.
d’entrevista.
