This document summarizes research on identifying the sex pheromone components of the Brazilian population of Spodoptera frugiperda (fall armyworm). Virgin female moths were extracted and eight compounds were identified in their pheromone glands. Field tests showed that a blend of three components, (Z)-9-tetradecenyl acetate, (Z)-7-dodecenyl acetate, and (E)-7-dodecenyl acetate, was most effective at attracting male moths.
