Blue Shield of California: Improving Service and Competitiveness with IBM Pur...Perficient, Inc.
To better meet the needs of members and remain competitive, Blue Shield of California needed to speed time-to-market for new offerings by overcoming a lack of automation and an inability to quickly provision systems.
The group chose IBM PureApplication System and IBM Premier Business Partner Perficient to speed deployment by pairing repeatable patterns and cloud delivery on a naturally scalable platform. Provisioning based on patterns allows Blue Shield to simplify management with automation, spend more time on innovation, and accelerate deployments from weeks to a matter of hours.

Measuring ROI and Driving Adoption of TAS in an EnterpriseVMware Tanzu
The document outlines steps taken to measure ROI and drive adoption of Tanzu Application Services. It describes collecting data through a questionnaire about time savings across development, operations, and maintenance. Sample sizes were determined and data was collected through interviews. Results were analyzed and visualized in Tableau dashboards showing cost offsets, hours saved, and adoption metrics over time. This identified that delays in the software delivery process needed to be addressed, pointing to the next metric of focus: cycle time reduction.

Blue Shield of CA Revolutionizes its Portal Environment on IBM PureApplicatio...Perficient, Inc.
Blue Shield of California revolutionized its portal environment by implementing IBM's PureApplication System. The new portal needed to be ready by October 1st for open enrollment under the Affordable Care Act. Blue Shield's previous infrastructure was non-converged and standalone, making application provisioning take up to 4 months. The PureApplication System provided pre-defined application patterns that allowed Blue Shield to deploy new environments in hours instead of weeks. This helped Blue Shield prepare for the higher website activity expected from the healthcare exchange.

It also outlines responsibilities of the program management team, integrated product team leads, and program planning and controls.
Cost optimization is a frequently cited reason for adopting cloud computing. However, some organizations are finding that during the migration process, replicating what is in your data centers isn’t yielding ideal results and expending numerous resources. Cloud Technology Partners Principal Architect Kacy Clarke and Global Alliance Manager Stuart Robertson discuss the realistic results you should keep in mind during your initial TCO/ROI analysis and suggest best practices to realize those goals.
