our story
In our personal lives we were already very focused on green living: living off the grid with
solar power, we are building a straw-bale timber-frame home with locally (from our land!)
harvested wood. We drive a biodiesel beetle and shop at the coop and farmerʼs market
when we canʼt eat from our own garden.
But we wanted to do more.
We kept hearing from friends that they wanted to live greener and buy local, but a few big
barriers kept getting in the way:
price, convenience, availability & selection
So we created Shop Near and www.shopnear.net to help overcome these barriers:
