SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT
Invited by the company’s promoters to rejoin the group. As I am known to the
management since the company’s inception and formed part of the successful
team, I decided to return back and accepted this important position.
The main objective of my appointment is to establish proper operating systems
within the diamond department. The aim to reduce the considerable inventory
that had piled up over the years.
In addition to my diamond input, I am required to add value with my overall
jewellery knowledge in the below mentioned areas.
Note : My diamond department responsibilities are added as an annexure to the
resume.
• To take complete charge of the Vivian Skye factory.
• To establish and ensure consistency and overall quality in the diamond
bagging department as the main priority initially.
• To establish a bridal production facility at the Vivian Skye factory.
• To establish CQC (Central Quality Control) within the International Gold
Co Ltd. and all the group companies.
• To establish a research and development (R&D) cell for new product
development.
• To establish and develop CNC/ Machine set/ Auto set.
• To develop new concepts and establish a checking procedure for new
prototypes.
• To develop and establish mass manufacturing capability for Titanium/
Steel /Tungsten steel with studded and gold inlayed jewellery products.
• To develop a new color stone studded jewellery product line.
• Give technical guidance to sales and marketing for customer queries and
to ensure customer delight.
• To establish and develop new vendors for jewellery manufacturing.
• To develop and introduce a system of cost centers that will calculate and
give daily MIS reports of current cost per piece.
• To introduce a strict vigil and deploy a system to log idle hours within all
the group companies.

The management was facing serious quality issues in the production lines at
Elegant Collection. A decision to appoint me as the overall group CQC manager
was taken, as I had the necessary credentials to fulfill this difficult task in the
midst of the peak season.
GENERAL MANAGER QUALITY ASSURANCE

In view of the outstanding performance of the ground floor lines of Elegant
Collection, the management gave me complete charge of both the Jasani
factories and the ground floor premium lines of Elegant Collection shifted to the
new premises.

GROUP CONSULTANT FOR QUALITY CONTROL
These companies are the jewelry manufacturing units of the parent diamond
company Jasani. The group is well known over the world for its top quality in
jewelry design and manufacturing. The management was known to me since my
interaction with them during my tenure with Prestige Jewelry (N.Y). for Quality
checking of finished jewelry. The management offered me a consultancy contract
as a 3rd
party QC to check the jewelry manufactured at their 3 factories located in
SEEPZ ; Andheri (West) Mumbai. The activities involved are as follows:
• Final inspection of jewelry pieces manufactured at their factories or
appointed vendors, studded or un-studded.
• The inspection would be for diamonds / color stones / metal.

• Customer samples and commercial orders.
• Parameters for QC would be benchmarked against customer samples or
in case of first time export to a new customer, as per company established
standards.
• Inspection to include random destruction of a piece for metal assay and
gem weight tolerance check.
• Inspect master models, and suggest changes or alterations as required,
technically or aesthetically.
• Seal passed pieces ready for export. Pieces cannot be exported without
my approval or in case of dispute with due documentation.
• Maintain MIS reports daily, monthly and yearly of number of pieces offered
for inspection, pieces passed at first attempt, various repairs, and
rejections.
• Average number of pieces to be checked per month would be
approximately 15,000.
Only group in SEEPZ to adopt the European format for manufacturing and
checking high end jewelry. This unique procedure was introduced by me.

COMPANY FEATURES
MODEL MAKING
The company has carried out model making activities for major companies in
SEEPZ such as Inter Gold, International Gold Co. , Gem Plus, Rosy Blue (NY),
Rennaisence, Eternity, Precise etc. Our local customers to name a few are Gili,
Reves, Ace, HK Jewels, Emerald (Coiambatore), etc.
WAX-SETTING
The company had an agreement to carry out wax-setting operations with a
company in SEEPZ by the name of Gem Plus. The ready bagged diamonds with
waxes were forwarded to our factory in Vasai. After completion, the wax-set
pieces were transferred to our office at Jogeshwari for Gem Plus QC. The
passed pieces were sealed by the customers QC representative and forwarded
to Gem Plus town office.
Highlights: Completed a 75,000 pieces order for Gem Plus. The end customer
was Sterling NY. The order was completed within one month.
MARKETING CONSULTANCY
Took up consultancy for marketing operations for a company I-cap in Antwerp.
The companies focus was to market jewelry manufactured by Gem Plus (India)
all over Europe. Attended all major jewelry shows such as Basel, Vicenza,
Inhergenta, Paris Jewelry Exhibition. The new product development was carried
out under my supervision. All the models for the Europe Jewelry line were made
by De L’or.
We ended our liaison in the year 2002 due to certain in-acceptable terms dictated
by the Gem Pus management.
JEWELRY MANUFACTURING (On Job work basis).
In the year 2002 we were approached by an Antwerp based company
Zonnebleum bva., to undertake jewelry manufacturing operations. The finance to
set up the factory was undertaken by the Belgian company.
We are proud to declare our company manufactures exclusive titanium jewelry
plain, studded and with gold inlays. We also have our own collection of high end
diamonds and precious/semi precious stones studded gold jewelry that we
design and manufacture in-house.
ESQUADA - QUALITY CONTROL.
I undertook an offer made by a New York based company Prestige Jewelry Inc
NY, to look after their Jewelry production distributed with various vendors located
in SEEPZ and local. The operation involved a thorough quality check as per strict
bench marked guide lines. Not a single consignment has been rejected by the
end customer, which was passed and sealed by our quality team.

The company separated from its parent company Intergold and set up its own
Sales & Mktg. Dept. and I was selected to head the Prestige Jewelry (NY)
account.

• Daily communication with the customers.
• Releasing sample / commercial work orders for purchase orders received
from the customer.
• Responsible in activities of follow-up for the production orders at hand
• Authenticate export documentation
• Responsible for generating open order statements (Product development
and Commercial orders)

OVERSEAS EXPERIENCE
• Visited customers in New York for product development and account
related issues.
• Represented International Gold Co Ltd. for the JCK Show 2001 in Las
Vegas.
• Gained valuable experience in customer relations, as I was allowed to
participate in customer meetings at the Vegas Show.

Role & Responsibility:
• Completed a training program in manufacturing rough Diamonds.
• Other topics covered were Rough assortment (Planning), Bruting, Table
smoothing, Grain setting, Top / bottom faceting and Polish assortment.
• With the added knowledge of manufacturing rough diamonds, became an
important member of the management core group for planning production
and quality.
• Formed part of the training cell established by the management and was
immediate assistant to the training consultants from Belgium.
• The management offered to introduce me to jewelry at their new factory
International Gold Co. Ltd., which was the first company in SEEPZ to
manufacture platinum jewelry.
Even though jewelry was not my subject, I immediately took up the
responsibility as a challenge to add a new facet to my work experience that
would make me a complete jeweler with my strong diamonds background.

  • 5. FROM DEC 2001 TO MARCH 2004 DE L’OR (INDIA) PRIVATE LIMITED. MANAGING DIRECTOR COMPANY FEATURES MODEL MAKING The company has carried out model making activities for major companies in SEEPZ such as Inter Gold, International Gold Co. , Gem Plus, Rosy Blue (NY), Rennaisence, Eternity, Precise etc. Our local customers to name a few are Gili, Reves, Ace, HK Jewels, Emerald (Coiambatore), etc. WAX-SETTING The company had an agreement to carry out wax-setting operations with a company in SEEPZ by the name of Gem Plus. The ready bagged diamonds with waxes were forwarded to our factory in Vasai. After completion, the wax-set pieces were transferred to our office at Jogeshwari for Gem Plus QC. The passed pieces were sealed by the customers QC representative and forwarded to Gem Plus town office. Highlights: Completed a 75,000 pieces order for Gem Plus. The end customer was Sterling NY. The order was completed within one month. MARKETING CONSULTANCY Took up consultancy for marketing operations for a company I-cap in Antwerp. The companies focus was to market jewelry manufactured by Gem Plus (India) all over Europe. Attended all major jewelry shows such as Basel, Vicenza, Inhergenta, Paris Jewelry Exhibition. The new product development was carried out under my supervision. All the models for the Europe Jewelry line were made by De L’or. We ended our liaison in the year 2002 due to certain in-acceptable terms dictated by the Gem Pus management. JEWELRY MANUFACTURING (On Job work basis). In the year 2002 we were approached by an Antwerp based company Zonnebleum bva., to undertake jewelry manufacturing operations. The finance to set up the factory was undertaken by the Belgian company. We are proud to declare our company manufactures exclusive titanium jewelry plain, studded and with gold inlays. We also have our own collection of high end diamonds and precious/semi precious stones studded gold jewelry that we design and manufacture in-house. ESQUADA - QUALITY CONTROL. I undertook an offer made by a New York based company Prestige Jewelry Inc NY, to look after their Jewelry production distributed with various vendors located in SEEPZ and local. The operation involved a thorough quality check as per strict bench marked guide lines. Not a single consignment has been rejected by the end customer, which was passed and sealed by our quality team. 5
  • 6. MAY 1999 – DEC 2001 INTERNATIONAL GOLD CO. LTD. Head Sales & Marketing The company separated from its parent company Intergold and set up its own Sales & Mktg. Dept. and I was selected to head the Prestige Jewelry (NY) account. Role & Responsibility • Daily communication with the customers. • Releasing sample / commercial work orders for purchase orders received from the customer. • Responsible in activities of follow-up for the production orders at hand • Authenticate export documentation • Responsible for generating open order statements (Product development and Commercial orders) • New product development activities. • Responsible for generating MIS reports for exports. • Responsible for generating open order value statements. • Export projections based on customer feedback. OVERSEAS EXPERIENCE • Visited customers in New York for product development and account related issues. • Represented International Gold Co Ltd. for the JCK Show 2001 in Las Vegas. • Gained valuable experience in customer relations, as I was allowed to participate in customer meetings at the Vegas Show. • Developed two new customers from St. Thomas islands FROM JULY 1998 TILL MAY 1999 INTERNATIONAL GOLD CO. Role & Responsibility • Responsible for the overall inspection of incoming diamonds against commercial and sample orders. • Take care of the assortment and picking (Clarity & Color) and matching. 6

ASSISTANT MANAGER - PRODUCTION Role & Responsibility • Head of Waxing, Investment and casting, wax-setting. • Responsible for activities of Product development and model maintenance. • In charge of the companies jewelry range display. FROM DECEMBER 1996 TILL SEPTEMBER 1997 INTER GOLD (INDIA) LTD. MANAGEMENT TRAINEE Role & Responsibility: • Completed a training program in manufacturing rough Diamonds. • Other topics covered were Rough assortment (Planning), Bruting, Table smoothing, Grain setting, Top / bottom faceting and Polish assortment. • With the added knowledge of manufacturing rough diamonds, became an important member of the management core group for planning production and quality. • Formed part of the training cell established by the management and was immediate assistant to the training consultants from Belgium. • The management offered to introduce me to jewelry at their new factory International Gold Co. Ltd., which was the first company in SEEPZ to manufacture platinum jewelry. Even though jewelry was not my subject, I immediately took up the responsibility as a challenge to add a new facet to my work experience that would make me a complete jeweler with my strong diamonds background. 7

FROM JUNE 1990 TILL JUNE 1996 MAHENDRA BROTHERS HEAD OF ROUGH PROCESSING DEPT The management introduced a new rough assortment section comprising of 80 trainee ladies personnel and I was selected as the head of the dept. FROM DECEMBER 1984 TILL JUNE 1990 MAHENDRA BROTHERS ( NAVSARI, GUJARAT) Management Trainee Formed part of the manual cleaving department. Practically, learned to cleave and understand rough diamonds. Since the company is a sight holder, was fortunate to process almost all types of rough diamonds mined from all over the world. The company was the only one to have exclusive rights for rough diamonds mined from the Argyle Mines Australia.
