Half-Day Interactive Workshop
“Get ready to actively participate in your transformation from product manager to product leader”
A product manager rarely has any authority beyond what they can talk people into, thus we need to become really strong communicators. In this half-day interactive workshop, we’ll look at the three kinds of communication: managing up, team communications, and the very important roadshow for getting other groups onboard with your vision. We will use the power of story for formal communication and a combination of techniques from NVC (Harvard’s negotiation project) and the GSB’s “touchy feely” class to make sure your message gets through, and that we are listening effectively.
This special half-day training workshop, with product author and lecturer, Christina Wodtke, is specifically designed for product managers who are looking to really level up their communications skills and who want to use story-telling to effectively communicate with others.
This presentation was developed for the San Felipe-Del Rio Consolidated Independent School District secretary and front office training held on August 9, 2010

My notes and musing around this valuable book on the leadership challenges around scaling an organisation. These are my notes, my comments and insights, but the work is that of Robert I Sutton and Rao Hayagreeva, their case studies, their thinking and sometimes their words.
Resilience is a mindset and a way of life, not an end goal.
Use covid-19 as opportunities to grow stronger and thrive in testing times.
We can choose our response.
Resilience is contagious (Spread resilience, not the virus!)
Let’s rise up and emerge stronger by building up our resilience! #SgUnited
Scaling a business is a leadership challenge. This is the message that this amazing book leaves you with, how though do we do that? Musings - that stream of thought that arrives from any direction as we read, take-in information and process it - are captured in a slidedeck that will hopefully act as an aide memoir but also as a catalyst for you to read the work.

I select an appropriate number of slides for each speech and this is a representative sample. I'll work with you to create a title slide and to incorporate the key points you need for me to cover at your event. Please let me know if there are specific ones you'd like for me to be sure to use.

Welcome to the Program Your Destiny course. In this course, we will be learning the technology of personal transformation, neuroassociative conditioning (NAC) as pioneered by Tony Robbins. NAC is used to deprogram negative neuroassociations that are causing approach avoidance and instead reprogram yourself with positive neuroassociations that lead to being approach automatic. In doing so, you change your destiny, moving towards unlocking the hypersocial self within, the true self free from fear and operating from a place of personal power and love.

2. A = ATTITUDE
• Smile
• Positive
• Vision
• Mission
• Determination
• Persistence
• Fail Forward
• Trust Your Process
• Humility
• Thankfulness - Gratitude
3. “The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of
attitude on life. Attitude is more important than
the facts. It’s more important than the past, than
education, than money, than circumstances, than
failures, than success, than what other people say
and do. It’s more important than appearance,
giftedness, or skill.
It can make or break an individual a company or a
non-profit.
The remarkable thing is that we have a choice
every day regarding the attitude we will embrace.
We cannot change our past, we cannot change
the fact that people will behave in a certain way,
we cannot change the inevitable. I’m convinced
that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% how
I react to it. And so it is---We are in charge of our
attitudes.”
Chuck Swindoll
4. • “Far better is it to
dare mighty things, to
win glorious triumphs,
even though checkered
by failure...than to

spirits who neither
enjoy nor suffer much,
because they live in a
gray twilight that
knows not victory nor
defeat.”
•Theodore
Roosevelt

15. Bejar, Feby. 24th. 1836
To the People of Texas & All Americans
in the World-
Fellow Citizens & compatriots-
I am besieged, by a thousand or more of
the Mexicans under Santa Anna - I have
sustained a continual Bombardment &
cannonade for 24 hours & have not lost
a man - The enemy has demanded a
surrender at discretion, otherwise, the
garrison are to be put to the sword, if the
fort is taken - I have answered the
demand with a cannon shot, & our flag
still waves proudly from the walls - I
shall never surrender or retreat. Then, I
call on you in the name of Liberty, of
patriotism & everything dear to the
American character, to come to our aid,
with all dispatch - The enemy is
receiving reinforcements daily & will no
doubt increase to three or four thousand
in four or five days. If this call is
neglected, I am determined to sustain
myself as long as possible & die like a
soldier who never forgets what is due to

23. Be sure to establish the right physical atmosphere for maximum
productivity. For the majority of people, the maximum retention of
material and work productivity take place in a quiet, comfortable, well-lit
atmosphere with no distractions. Repetition and self-testing build the skill
level necessary to achieve your goals.
Avoid tangible distractions and police your thoughts to stay on track.
Visualize the achievement, presentation, skill set or product in its perfect,
finished form to spur you on to greater energy output and focus..
A recap of these steps is listed below:
• Analysis of important goals
• Set aside necessary time
• Set aside time wasters
• 80/20 analysis of the specific goal
• Seek out expertise
• Set deadlines and benchmarks
• Establish the right physical atmosphere
• Visualize the finished product
This premise can be used to allow for the focus necessary for any true
achievement to take place. Even if an individual is considered naturally
gifted in a particular area, some level of focus is necessary for expertise and
success to be obtained.
