3. “The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of
attitude on life. Attitude is more important than
the facts. It’s more important than the past, than
education, than money, than circumstances, than
failures, than success, than what other people say
and do. It’s more important than appearance,
giftedness, or skill.
It can make or break an individual a company or a
non-profit.
The remarkable thing is that we have a choice
every day regarding the attitude we will embrace.
We cannot change our past, we cannot change
the fact that people will behave in a certain way,
we cannot change the inevitable. I’m convinced
that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% how
I react to it. And so it is---We are in charge of our
attitudes.”
Chuck Swindoll
4. • “Far better is it to
dare mighty things, to
win glorious triumphs,

rank with those poor
spirits who neither
enjoy nor suffer much,
because they live in a
gray twilight that
knows not victory nor
defeat.”

Roosevelt

14. Bejar, Feby. 24th. 1836
To the People of Texas & All Americans
in the World-
Fellow Citizens & compatriots-
I am besieged, by a thousand or more of
the Mexicans under Santa Anna - I have
sustained a continual Bombardment &
cannonade for 24 hours & have not lost
a man - The enemy has demanded a
surrender at discretion, otherwise, the
garrison are to be put to the sword, if the
fort is taken - I have answered the
demand with a cannon shot, & our flag
still waves proudly from the walls - I
shall never surrender or retreat. Then, I
call on you in the name of Liberty, of
patriotism & everything dear to the
American character, to come to our aid,
with all dispatch - The enemy is
receiving reinforcements daily & will no
doubt increase to three or four thousand
in four or five days. If this call is
neglected, I am determined to sustain
myself as long as possible & die like a
soldier who never forgets what is due to
