1. A Sample Argumentative Essay
Crafting an essay on the topic "A Sample Argumentative Essay" can be both challenging and
rewarding. The difficulty lies in the need to strike a balance between presenting a compelling
argument and adhering to the conventions of essay writing. Here are some of the challenges one
might encounter:
1. Clarity of Argument:Ensuring that your argument is clear and logically structured is
crucial. You must articulate your main points coherently and support them with relevant
evidence. This requires a deep understanding of the topic and the ability to convey
complex ideas in a straightforward manner.
2. Research: A well-argued essay often relies on extensive research to provide evidence
and examples. Finding credible sources and synthesizing information can be time-
consuming and requires a critical eye to discern reliable information from biased or
inaccurate sources.
3. Counterarguments: An argumentative essay often involves addressing
counterarguments. Anticipating opposing viewpoints and effectively refuting them adds
complexity to the writing process. This requires a comprehensive understanding of the
subject matter and the ability to construct a persuasive response.
4. Writing Style:Striking the right tone and maintaining a consistent writing style is
essential. The essay should be engaging, formal, and appropriate for the audience.
Achieving this balance can be challenging, especially for those not accustomed to
academic writing.
5. Revision and Editing: The process of revising and editing is integral to producing a
polished essay. Ensuring that ideas flow logically, sentences are well-structured, and
grammar and punctuation are correct demands careful attention to detail.
Despite these challenges, writing an essay on a sample argumentative topic can be an
intellectually stimulating experience. It allows the writer to delve deep into a subject, critically
evaluate information, and hone persuasive writing skills. The satisfaction of presenting a well-
crafted argument and supporting it effectively can be immensely rewarding.

2. Political Campaign Comparison
When looking at these images I think of the original piece that these works are a
reference to. For the Obama hope poster I am reminded of the political campaign
of him running and the photograph the poster referenced. In the second and third
poster I am reminded of the first poster as these are a parody of sorts of it. The
second poster has a portrait of the Joker from the batman series. The third is a
reference to Bill Clinton s sex scandal. The artist uses art appropriation to use an
image that the audience already knows. Since the audience is already familiar with
parts of the image it becomes sort of a parody. The audience can look at the piece
and form their own judgements based on what they think about these events. For
example a person who was not a fan of Obama during his political run would
already have their views of Obama when they look at the hope poster. They may not
see hope as the correct word for him. So the audience is able to put their opinions
with the image along with looking at the new... Show more content on

Since we already know who the people are in the posters we already have part of
the image created in our minds about what the posters are about. The artist uses
recognizable images and current events to bring about political and cultural
thoughts onto the image. The message is brought on by the words and what is
currently happening in the world. Each image is able to be shared by mass media
and becomes better known. These posters would not make sense if they were put
out during a time without the political effect. The hope poster would not make
much sense if it was put out before Obama s political campaign. Same with the
grope poster it would not make sense if the sex scandal did not happen. The second
and third image surely would not make sense if the first poster was never made.
The joke poster would not be as recognizable if the Joker was not called The
3. Reflection On Effective Teaching
Introduction
In this analysis, my objective is to reflect on effective teaching and learning strategies
and methods, using my personal experience in the classroom, as well as wider
reading/research and university lectures, including my contextual analysis on my
placement school (see appendix one).
However, since there are so many dynamics to effective teaching and learning, one
cannot put a finger on a single aspect and use that as a solution. With this in mind, I
have chosen to look at two foci in depth. These are Classroom Management and
Questioning Techniques but before we analyse these foci in depth, it is important to
understand what teaching and learning are. Not only this, but it is also essential to
note they are not ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The first teacher, who also happens to be my Subject Mentor, is a very experienced
staff member, he has known the students since they started the school in Year 7, and
hence he has a personal relationship with them. Because of this, he is able to joke
around with them and therefore be slightly friendly. This works well in this particular
situation, however, it does not mean it would work for every teacher.
Secondly, the other staff member happens to be someone with a practical approach;
she involves the students very much so in her lessons but at the same time they are
encouraged to work on independently too, as she has a slightly softer approach to
teaching, hence the pupils behave differently.
Lastly, the third staff member is Assistant Headteacher he has a very informal way of
teaching, to the point where he addresses the learners by their nicknames.
Furthermore, he uses slang in his lessons for better understanding for the learners.
Why teachers use different methods has a deep connection with how learners learn.
How do learners learn?
There are different learning styles, which should be the reason behind teachers using
different teaching styles. Studies suggest it is important for people to be in the right
state of mind in order to learn. If a person is not in the right mind to learn, learning
can be ineffective.
4. Examples Of Plato In Crito
In Crito by the Greek philosopher Plato, Crito, who is a good friend of Socrates
arrives at the jail where Socrates is held to help him escape, along with other reasons.
However, Socrates refuses to leave the jail because he believes it is unjust to disobey
the law. For this paper, I will be explaining Socratesposition in greater detail.
Socrates decides not to escape from the prison because he agreed to the terms of
his sentence with the Athenian state. Escaping would go against his belief that
man should ...do what he has agreed with someone to be right. (pg. 541). Another
reason why Socrates refuses to escape from the prison is that if he does escape, he
believes the state of Athens will view him as a danger to society who may disrupt
the order of Athens. He explains this position of what the state may ask him if he
escapes when he says, In trying to do this, can t you see that you re trying to
destroy us, the Laws, and the whole state as far as you can do it? (pg. 541).... Show

He explains this belief when he explains to Crito You must honor and obey and
conciliate your country. (pg. 543). What Socrates meant by this was that whatever
qualms who have against your home state, you must put them aside and submit to the
law, whether you believe them to be unjust or not. As stated above even though
Socrates believed he was unjustly convicted, he willingly decided to obey the law
because he had grown up in Athens his entire life and submitted to their laws
5. Siddhartha s Journey Of Enlightenment Essay
Vedant Patel Mr. Kadar / Mr. Herzenberg Period 4 November 9, 2015Siddhartha s
journey to enlightenment can be described by three terms that are described in
Siddhartha by Hermann Hesse. Siddhartha goes through many challenges and
suffers in his journey to reach Nirvana. He wants to be enlightened one, one without
fear to anything. He wants to keep continue his path to Nirvana. He leaves
everything behind and keeps going towards his goal. The terms are very significant
in Siddhartha s life because the word Om guides him to perfection and oneness, he
goes through many challenges to reach Nirvana, and the term Samsara makes him
keep going in his life. The term Om is seen throughout Siddhartha s journey in
finding enlightenment. The word Om keeps him in the touch with the universe.
When Siddhartha gets into conflicts, Om saves him. When Siddhartha listened
attentively to this river, to this song of thousands voices; when he did not listen to
the sorrow or laughter, when he did not bind his soul to any one particular voice and
absorb it in his Self, but heard them all, the whole, the unity; then the great song of
thousand voices consisted of one word: Om Perfection (Hesse 136). The word Om
helps him to realize that he is not desiring anything, that he has reached the oneness.
He is out of every conflicts and he is united with everything. When he hears the word
Om, he reaches Nirvana. At that moment, when the sound of Om reached Siddhartha
s ears, his slumbering soul
6. Why Do Aliens Invade
When aliens invade, it s predicted in the apocalypse that men s hearts shall fail
them for fear, and (Conspiracy theories), as a result, are to cover what is coming,
they plan to rob the world. The world has summoned back the gods (aliens), one
example of summoning is an outstretched tongue. Intentionally protruding the
tongue represents the union of masculine and feminine spirits. This action invokes
the demonic spirits of transgender and the she males. The tongue protruding gives
these demons permission to come into the world or church. Inconsequential this is
why we have transgender and the she males. When Aliens invade, they will have
broken no laws and will be free to take over our planet, even though it will be a
forcible act. We will not defeat them. Their planet is their spacecraft, and they make
up part of the spiritual realm, the invisible world around us is a world of the ancient
dead in at war with us. Thus, aliens are after your sons and your daughters and you,
they hate us all and blame all mankind for their woes with vengeance. They plotted
against my daughter and will plot against you, your sons and daughters.... Show more

Microelectromechanical Systems (MEMS) are systems that are designed on a
micro metre scale and have become more popular as the demand for devices to get
smaller has increased. The main uses of these systems are for sensors, such as
accelerometers and gyroscopes and other such devices like microscopy and inkjet
nozzles for example. There are many materials that can be used for MEMS as the
cost of the material is almost eradicated due to the micro size of the systems being
produced. This brings materials such as gold, platinum and diamondcan be used, as
these materials have some properties which are very desirable for a MEM systems.
The most common material that is currently used in MEMS is siliconand silicon based
compounds as they... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The piezoresistivity properties of diamond allow it to be used for a variety of
applications at temperatures of up to 700oC . Also diamond films can actually be
used as the active sensor layer themselves in certain situations . This has been found
useful for strain gauges and accelerometers as well as other areas. It is due to the
piezoresistive gauge factor of diamond to be between 70 4000 and remains as such
even at high temperatures. Another advantage of using diamond in these situations is
that because its elastic modulus is much greater than other materials that would be
used such as Silicon or silicon based compounds the diamond films can operate at
much higher frequencies. Although it has been believed that only polycrystalline
materials have these piezoresistive properties, in recent times the same properties
have been found in amorphous films of both silicon and diamond.
As devices get smaller the surface to volume ratio increase dramatically down to the
micrometre scale which means that at these levels of design the surface phenomena
become more important. The forces which create these surface phenomena such as
Van der Waal s capillary and local shear forces due to the viscosity become the main
factors at a
8. The Threat Of Good Example
US armed intervention seeks mainly to counter the threat of good example .
Chomsky suggests the real domino theory refers not to the threat of communism
spreading, but the idea that a country may develop a successful socialist state and
economy independent from the US, thus setting an example for other countries where
the US has economic interests. This may result in a domino effect where these other
countries are influenced to do the same and develop independence from the US, thus
threatening US hegemony. There are two types of domino effects: the threat of
communismwhich is used to justify US intervention to the public, and the actual
threat of good example which motivates US to suppress socialist movements in
countries like Guatemala, East Timor, Laos, Grenada, and Nicaragua. The real
motives for US intervention are therefore for its own material and strategic gains,
under the pretense of propagating the ideas of freedom and democracy.
The NIEO pushed by the Third Worldstates challenged the systemic favour First

9. A Comparison of Helen in the Iliad and the Odyssey
The Iliad and The Odyssey are tales written by Homer centered on the drama of the
Trojan War. First poem deals with the time during the end of the war, while the latter,
which occurs roughly ten years later, explains the disastrous journey of Odysseus
fighting his way back home. The character of women in the Odysseyis to exhibit the
many and diverse roles that women play in the lives of men. These functions vary
from characters such as the goddess that help them to the nymphs who trick them.
Women in the Iliadexhibit their significance in the lives of the ancient Greeks
because they are so prominent in a world so dominated with military relations.

It becomes aware of Homer s distaste for her because indignity is her central
characteristic, and this coming from a writer we have come to associate with honor.
It remains unclear whether or not she was forced by Aphrodite to go with Paris. If
she was not, then it appears that lust and desire was her sole motivation, leaving her
with yet another trait which is unappealing to Homer.
Homer tends to lighten Helen s betrayal somewhat in The Odyssey. Homer wants to
assure the reader that although it is in the past, it will not be entirely forgotten. In this
epic she becomes a wife to Menelaus and not in the literal sense because the two
have always been married. Instead, she now openly admits to him and other guests
that her actions were unspeakable and unforgivable, almost to say that what
occurred what unlike her and she actually is a good woman. Also, Menelaus agrees
with her, showing no anger. But Homer lets us know that she is as deceitful and
conniving as ever, when Helen admits to openly celebrating the fall of Troy,
cheering while the Trojan women wept for their husbands. She says The rest of the
Trojan women shrilled with their grief. Not I: my heart leapt up my heart had
changed now I yearned to sail back home again (Homer). Thus, Helen goes from
being deceitful to adapting disloyalty.
Homer s dislike for Helen becomes apparent, but only with further examination. In

10. Enslavement of the Individual in Capitalist Society as...
Bourgeois society enslaves the individual such that any attempt to transcend one s
environmental limitations results in self destruction. Nietzsche slave morality
theory is applicable to the works of Dostoyevsky, Mann, and Ibsen, and posits that
an individual uprising under a bourgeois blanket leads to reactivity, not activity.
Though each man calls for individuals values to be raised in some way (in the case of
Nietzsche, by an Гјber mensch), each understands the impossibility of that under
bourgeoisrule. Marxargues that the only way to restore individuality is for the
proletariat to band together and overthrow the society that hinders its freedom. Only
then will slave morality be erased as individuals forge active change.... Show more

This proposes that an individual is allowed to impose his own values on society.
However, Raskolnikov s actions imply that he still operates out of a slave
mentality. He eats his soup in a mechanical sort of way (1, 6, p.86), and in the
murder of the landlady he almost mechanically struck her (1, 6, p.96). The crime
seals Raskolnikov s isolation, which is necessary for an extraordinary man to set
himself apart from the rest and defeat his slave impulses; he tells his mother and
sister, I want to be alone. Better forget me altogether (4, 3, p.328). However, even the
self sufficient Svidrigaylov demonstrates a human requirement for the company of
others, indicating his own lavishness: And I shall be your slave‹for the rest of
my life (6, 5, p.506). Further examples refute Raskolnikov s theory. He wonders if
man isn t really a beast‹man in generalŠthe whole human raceŠthen all the rest
is just prejudice, just imagined fears (1, 2, p.44). Raskolnikov s, or any single man
s, inability to rise out of the morass of bourgeois complacency is pointed out by a
bar patron, who asks Would you kill the old woman yourself?ЕIf you are not ready
to do it yourself, it s not a question of justice at all (1, 6, p.86). The Raskolnikov
does eventually kill her by himself, the important idea presented here is that no single
person has the strength or will to combat bourgeois morality by himself; rather, there
11. Mayor Of Casterbridge By Michael Farfrae Analysis
The Resentment and Downfall of an Antihero In the mid 1800s, Michael
Henchard and his wife Susan, who carried their daughter Elizabeth Jane, were
walking down a path seeking a place to lodge for the evening. Stopping at a county
fair tent, the family decided to eat furmity, Michael Henchard (who possessed a
quick temper and a drinking problem at the time) decided to slide the cook extra
money to spike his meal. After this point, the situation rapidly got out of hand and
Michael Henchard sold his wife and child to a sailor for five guineas. This was the
shocking first scene in Thomas Hardys novel, Mayor of Casterbridge, published in
1886. To proceed with the story and jump ahead almost two decades, Susan and
Elizabeth Jane sought out Henchard (since the sailor was lost at sea and believed
to never return) in the town of Casterbridge, where they discovered that he was
Mayor. From this point on, the husband and wife reconciled their differences,
married again, and started new beginnings together. However, things took a turn for
the worse ever since the two women materialized back into Henchard s life.
Throughout the novel, Donald Farfrae, a man Michael requested assistance from,

latter. Their differences included love, success, popularity, fortune, and authority.
However, Farfrae was not the cause of Michael s misfortune, in fact Donald was
noble in all of his affairs. Michael Henchard was
12. Essay On Home Equity Line Of Credit
Home Equity Line of Credit
Let s set the stage by stating that a home equity line of credit is an effective
financial tool for some folks. It is a variable rate revolving credit line that uses the
equity in your home as collateral.
The word equity in home equity line of credit is defined as the difference between
your home s market value and the amount outstanding on your mortgage. It s similar
to having a credit card with a low interest rate and high credit limit.
One important point to bear in mind is that a home equity line of credit is not your
traditional loan. A home equity line of credit is very closely related to a home equity
loan but the subtle differences between the two can mean a lot.

The home equity line of credit is a better match than a home equity loan if you have
to to have access to funds for more than one academic period for instance (each
semester over the next four years). And best of all, the interest is generally tax
deductible (discuss with your tax advisor for additional information).
A home equity line of credit is one of the most practical tools that a homeowner can
have in his or her financial arsenal. Available to qualifying homeowners, it is a smart
choice for financing nearly anything. They are a great way to consolidate high
interest credit cards, free up money for home improvements or get your kids off to
college.
Pay Interest Only On the Amount You Use
Another of the positive aspects is that it can sit idle until you need it. Once you are
approved, you withdraw the cash as the need arises. The great thing about this is that
you simply pay interest on the credit you use, saving you hundreds or even thousands
of dollars each year on interest payments. A home equity line of credit is an efficient
tool because you only meet with interest charges when you tap the line.
Once your home equity line of credit is set up, you ll have access to an continuing
source of low cost funds to use as you see fit. The interest is normally lower than
other types of credit and as we mentioned above, an additional benefit is that the
interest is often tax deductible.
A home equity line of credit is excellent for emergencies and debt

14. The Tempest Passage Analysis
When Prospero talks about his magic it makes sense to read it as a supernatural
power or an illusion that is shaping the events of the play; however, it makes more
sense to read it as him manipulating people and events. At the time the The Tempest
was written The Oxford English Dictionary defines it in this way stating, The use
of ritual activities or observances which are intended to influence the course of
events or to manipulate the natural world, usually involving the use of an occult or
secret body of knowledge; sorcery, witchcraft. Also: this practice as a subject of
study. (OED) this involves all the components seen in Prospero s magic. Reading
magic in this way specifically in act 5 scene 1 lines 45 58 enhances the reading of
this passage in making Prospero arguably seen as the author of this play giving him
authority over the events in this play through his knowledge and observances, not an
illusion or the supernatural.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Winnie the Pooh is a children s storybook written by one of the most famous
children s British writers, Alan Alexander Milne in 1926. Milne s inspiration of the
character was from a stuffed animal that his son, Christopher Robin owned in the
nursery. Therefore, Milne made up a special bedtime story for and about his son; it
was about a silly old bear , some other animal friends and many pots of honey. The
Pooh series, including Winnie the Pooh and The House at Pooh Corner were instant

War is horrible, but slavery is worse, and you may be sure that the British people
would rather go down fighting than live in servitude. вЃ· By July 10th, 1940,
Germany had overrun Europe using Blitzkrieg method and then declared war on
Great Britain. This war was the first military campaign in history to be fought
entirely in the air. Conquering all the odds, the Royal Air Forcestood alone and
defeated the German Luftwaffe. Even when facing certain defeat, Britain prevailed.
The leadership of Great Britain, radar, and the Royal Air Force without a doubt were
the three most crucial reasons into why Britain prevailed.
The leadership of Great Britain played an important role to Britain s success during
the Battle of Britain. Winston Churchill and Lord Beaverbrook were two of the most
important people to thank when it comes to Great Britain s success. Winston

warning signs on German attacks or raids. It gave the fighters valuable time to
prepare for German attacks and made sure they were not caught alone and

stations in the south of Britain under their possession, which gave them an edge over
Germany throughout the battle. Overall, radar was very effective and it helped Great

18. How Did The Eucharist Enrich Our Culture
A theme that could enrich our culture today would be the meal, today we think of
the Eucharist more as something that we just do in church. Back in history
Eucharist was more than just a thing that they did to be close to God and
remember what Jesus had done for us. But back in the early church it was more of
a worship service in and of itself. This could benefit many people in the church
because meals would start to mean more to the people that are in the church. That it
would not just be a time to gather and eat but to spend time in communion with
people also to worship God together serving Him in a service that has to do with
actions as well as the placement of ones soul.

This could help our churches today stand out in this society were the people are very
individualistic and this could help the society come closer to being more of a
community culture. This is important to keep Eucharist in our churches but it might
be very undermined today because today s churches only make it a small part of the
service where in the early church it was a very big part of the service.
All together this could be something very difficult to install in our churches today
but could be something that might change not just the thought process of a church
but could change the all of society. Because if one starts to change the thought
process of a few then sooner or later they will continue to change the though
processes of others and soon all of society. This could help our society start to care
for the poor, widowed and orphaned because this meal includes these people in the

chance to do the hard work for you? No matter what you classify yourself to be, life
has its way if coming back arounding, giving people what they deserve. In the
folktale ВЁFrau HolleВЁ by Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm the author compares and
contrast the characteristics and personalities of two sisters. This comparison
between the sisters demonstrate how good witted people with benevolent actions
later in life will receive a reward. In contrast greedy and lazy people who don t
endeavor their very best to perform a taskwill fall short of a reward, because it is not

A person who passes them may proceed to attainment. A person who fails them will
not be able to attain, as her own shortcomings will get the better of her. This
industrious girl will reach her attainment later in the story, unfortunately her step

attainment. The beautiful girl s initiation was by invitation. The ugly girl tried to
gain it by force. However, attainment can only go to the right person. That is the
person who is patient, diligent and of good character. Try as she will, the wrong
person cannot attain because she is unwilling to let go of her own personal
20. Essay On Government Surveillance
Abstract
You are under surveillance right now. Everything that you search, and everywhere
that you go is being recorded and stored in a private corporation s warehouse, sitting
and waiting for it to be recalled and analyzed. In the past, information was much
more difficult to come by. Files were only made on individuals that have been
identified as suspects. Now with the help of personal laptops, cellphones and modern
technology, being watched has become so much simpler. No one is exempt from the
surveillance state that we live in today, and our freedom is paying the price.
Why do we have it? That s a question that crosses everyone minds. The people who
decided that there needed to be a watchdog hidden in our devices say that we need this

Governments want more power:
Government power is increasing on the Internet. There is more government
surveillance than ever before. There is more government censorship than ever before.
There is more government propaganda, and an increasing number of governments are
controlling what their users can and cannot do on the Internet. Totalitarian
governments are embracing a growing cyber sovereignty movement to further
consolidate their power. And the cyberwar arms race is on, pumping an enormous
amount of money into cyber weapons and consolidated cyber defenses, further
increasing government power.
Protection against terrorism:
The argument used by governments and other organizations is that to protect us
from terrorist they must watch our habits on and offline. At a quick glance, it seems
to make sense. Especially with the if you have nothing to hide, you have nothing to
fear, line that is thrown around so much. They say that if we watch you, we can also
watch those who are criminals, and that you will be safer this way. Therefore, what
the government uses security cameras in public spaces, when they use their powers
to enact warrantless wiretapping, with what they say is only minimal invasion of the
privacy of its citizen. However, that is only one side of the store, the side that has all

21. Social Inequities And Its Effects On Society
Social Inequities are one of the most faced problems that people are around the world
experience, yet they are thrown aside when these issues have more concerns than
what meets the eye. Currently in the world, there is a manifold of inequities, such as
the very popular ones that continue to expand, such as racism, feminism, and
bullying. Although over the years not much improvement has been made to put an
end on these issues, authors have been informing teens, especially in their writing,
making them aware about the current events. Throughout literature, many people s
eyes have been opened and now more people are aware of the issues and are now
starting to do something about it. To conclude, social inequities are growing

In comparison to men, women are not making nearly as much money as men. Over
time not much improvement had been made in women s income, and they still made
a significant, lesser, amount of money. Aside from that, females are also segregated
from males in multiple categories with downgrading outcomes for the development
of their choices and capabilities. To summarize, it is clear that feminism is a
noteworthy issue that hasn t been addressed formally enough. To add on, racism is
also a very common inequity. People are segregated and looked at differently for their
skin color, resulting in different treatment towards individuals. This treatment, was
cruel and unusual, such as slavery, and abuse towards people. Although these actions
were not necessary whatsoever, the treatment continued on for years to come,
worsening as time went on. After the civil rights movement, the tension decreased,
however to this day, racism still occurs throughout the world. All in all, racism is a
still occurring situation that may have died down slightly, but still has not come to an
end. Nowadays, everything revolves around money. Money distinguishes the wealthy
from the less fortunate and because of this, financial inequality is a growing concern.
The Outsiders novel by S.E. Hinton shows how two different groups, the Soc s who

22. African American Slave Culture Essay
Music in the slave cultural was very essential to the slaves and their everyday
survival during the times of slavery. The music created by Africans during slavery
laid the foundation for all styles of African American music and culture as we know
today in society. There are a variety of types of slave genres such as religious songs,
work songs, and recreational songs. Each genre had its own types of functions,
characteristics, and expressions that slaves wanted to express through musicbut they
all had a commonality, which was that they all wanted to express strong emotions
toward physical experiences and physiological experiences that was endured as a
slave.
Religious songs were sacred and were used for religious worships. Religious songs
represented the practices of Christianity. Two examples of the religious songs I
listened to from the PBS Music in life module were Do Lord, Remember me and
Run Old Jeremiah . The song Do Lord, Remember me showed that it was
repetitive. The song lyrics Do, Lord, do, Lord, Lord, remember me was constantly
being repeated throughout the whole song, while a banjo accompanied the artist

to keep the slaves fit. Examples of recreational songs are Bile Them Cabbage

had a rhythmic syncopation. This tune seemed to be very uplifting and i could
only imagine how slaves was dancing to this tune. This tune was played using a
violin and gave a inspiring type of happiness. The song Go to Sleep gave a more
relaxing type of melody, and also was repetitive the artist constantly repeated Go to

23. Theme Of Osamu Dazai s The Setting Sun
The setting of Osamu Dazai s The Setting Sun and the history of Japan play a
major role in the story and its theme; in fact, Japan s culture and the events of the
1940s, when is was written, seem to be the catalyst for its creation. The title is a
reference specifically to the fall of ancient Japanese culture as an actual practice,
that is, its removal from everyday use. The actions and motivations of the characters
can be linked directly to the Japanese mindset and its unusually close relationship to
death, as seen throughout history. For example, Kazuko references one of Japan s
most beloved novels in her letters to Uehara: Genji Monogatari, or The Tale of Genji,
which was written by an aristocratic woman of the Heian period known as Murasaki
Shikibu(97). When expressing her love for him and her desire to mother his child,
she compares her passion to the iconic novel, exalting those days of Genji, Shikibu
s main character, as the time of ideal relationships. The Tale of Genji indeed
explores relationships and proper and improper behavior, but it also illustrates just
how deep death runs in Japanese culture; a major theme of the world s first great
novel is evanescence and the beauty of impermanence. In fact, the death of the main
character Genji s true love Murasaki, although sorrowful, is described with great care:
Despite the fact that she was terribly emaciated, Murasaki still looked remarkable; the
loss of weight had, if anything, distilled her beauty, which now
24. Gods and Immortals in Marilyn Todd’s Bad Day on
Mount Olympus
Marilyn Todd s Bad Day on Mount Olympus , retells the stories of Roman, Greek
God s and immortals, in a modern day language.
The first myth system to note is the story of Io, in which Zeus, King of the gods, is
unfaithful to his wife Hera, with a maiden named Io. Zeus does not want his wife to
find out about this, so he turns Io, into a heifer so as Hera will never see her. Jupiter
thinking he s best get in first, if he s looking to protect the girlfriend, so... spotting
a herd of cows on the hill, quick as a flash, he turns her into a heifer. This shows he
does want to protect Io, however, we see his cowardly ways by him not telling Hera
in the first place. In other interpretations of the story, we see Io get turned into a
beautiful white cow and also Zeus disguising the River Nymph as a cow meaning
she can blend among a herd. The effect of doing this changes the tone of the story, in
a sense of making it more comical to readers, instead of it being about betrayal and
trust.
The second myth system to note is Hercules and the Thespian Lion. When
Hercules was 18 he killed the Thespian Lion, because it was part of his Twelve
Labours in which he must abide by as penance for killing family, and once he
completed all of these, Hercules was a free man once again. When Hercules killed
the Lion, he wore the fur for the rest of his life, and we have mention of this in Todd
s story, no one wears the full Lion s pelt on a sweltering day like this without
courting some sort of

Symbolism of colors is evident in much of literature. The Blue Hotel by Stephen

J. Alfred Prufrock by T. S. Eliot, and The Red Wheelbarrowby William Carlos
Williams encompass examples of color symbolism from both the prose and the
poetry of literature. When drawing from various modes of psychology, interpretations
of various colors, with emphasis to dream psychology, an analysis of the colors

Blood is the energy coursing through the body and is related to blushing. Red also
represents violent emotional arousal. Red is the color of war, the Roman god

masculinity and activity. To the Chinese, red represents good fortune. To the
Christian, it denotes Christ s passion. (Fontana 66) Investigating more specifically
dream psychology, red may symbolize sexuality, passion, anger, revolution or
danger. Red being the color of blood, it is the symbol of life, which consequently is
why Hindu and Chinese brides wear red. But, blood may also represent injury or
death. (Ackroyd 253)
Blue is the color of intellect, peace and contemplation. It represents water and
serenity, and symbolizes the sky and infinity. To the Christian, blue is the color of the
Virgin as Queen of Heaven, and denotes faith, compassion and the water used in
baptism. The ancient Greeks and Romans attributed the color blue to Venus, the
goddess of love. (Fontana 66) In reference to dreams, blue represents the collective
unconscious. Alternatively, blue may represent the power of the conscious mind,
while dark blue is associated with depression. (Ackroyd 94)
Combining the power and authority of red with the sanctity and wisdom of blue,
violet s focus is amidst the most mystic of the colors. As a focus for meditation it can

Silica aerogels are transparent, highly porous substances consisting of tiny spheres
of bonded silicon and oxygen atoms joined into long strands. The strands are
separated by innumerable air spaces. Although they are solids, aerogels have
remarkably low densities, appearing almost like frozen wisps of smoke. They are one
of the lightest known solids. They also have the highest thermal resistance of any
solid ever tested and thus could have important applications as high efficiency
insulators and radiation detectors.

A college education is becoming a necessity in today society to live a wonderful
life. Almost, every job requires a person to be at least be a high school graduate to
even entire a workforce. On average high school, graduate makes around $28,000 a
year which is not nearly enough to support your family. Therefore, nearly everyone
wants to live the American Dream. The American dream is an idea of living a life
by material wealth and comfort. In our present society, it is not easy to achieve that
dream hence, it is very important to get a good education to increase your chances of
achieving the American Dream.
I firmly believe that without a good education it will become very tough for each
individual to survive in upcoming technological society.
According to National Center for Education Statistics around 20.4 million students
attended American colleges and universities in 2017. Each of those students who
attended colleges and universities in the past or will attend in the future will face a
decision if to go to a college full time or part time. I was also faced with a similar
decision to ener the workforce and go part time college or go to a college full time
without entering the workforce.
When I was making the decision I assessed the benefits and opportunity cost of each
of the potential decision and evaluated how each of decision will impact me to make
the decision that will be most beneficial to me.
When making an important decision it is very important to assess the

Since the beginning of history there has always been conflict and disagreement,
which led to battle and confrontation. Ever since these hostilities have emerged, the
problems that spark the conflicts and the battle itself have been illustrated in
textbooks and plastered all over the internet, yet no one really takes the time to think
of the many soldiers and people who risk their lives for our safety and freedom. To
gain a tighter grasp on history and what these veterans have done for us, we

Operations, Operation Desert Storm, and the Iraq War.

His confidence and determination lead him to believe that anyone can do anything
if their heart is in the right place. He believes that the true heroes are those serving
above him in service (Werthmuller). Our group learned that the position of officer
in the U.S. Army is a difficult rank and a harsh one in that one must be responsible
for the lives of many and still manage to fight for his country. This is what makes
Officer Werthmuller so special; he sincerely cares about the lives of his loved ones
and doesn t think a minute of life should be wasted.
From Officer Werthmuller s stories and experiences of battle and training, one
learns that people in service are so grateful and blessed for everything that they
have in their lives. The hard training and responsibilities that a soldier has to endure
while in service have made them at one point, he told about one night he was
looking at the stars and said that he would give anything to be home with his family;
he thinks they are the most precious thing in the world and seizes every opportunity
he gets to be with them (Werthmuller). This really shows how precious life is
because in the span of one second, your life could be ripped out from under you
without any warning. In the military, this uncertainty leads to the brotherly bonds
between the soldiers and devotion throughout their entire lives. One never knows
when their brother is going to be lost in battle and thus the soldiers

How David Fincher uses colour in the film Fight Club and how this is used to
influence the viewer.
Colour in film is very important, it can change the mood of the film, influence
viewers emotions as they watch, can be used as symbolism and can even teach the
viewer in a very short time to expect something to happen when a certain colour is
shown. The Director of Fight club and other films such as Se7en and the Girl with the
Dragon tattoo, David Fincher is very well known for working closely with the
cinematographer and his post production team to tightly control the colour in his
films and being quite innovative in his techniques to achieve better quality of colour

David Fincher, the director of Fight Club is well known for the certain look of his

The design of the PSFS allows the patient to list several important activities that
they are unable to perform or are having difficulty with as a result of their injury

You can never predict what life is going to throw at you. Until I was about 9 years
old, I lived in Groves, Texas which was located by the Gulf of Mexico. Groves was
a small town, so small that I had to go to school in Port Arthur, the city right next
to Groves. I had a small house and a big backyard with lots of trees. My dad also
kept a small ship and a boat in our yard, and I always thought about what it might
be like to board the ship. My days would be spent playing with my little sister and
hanging out in the yard, exploring every inch of our lawn. One hot September day,

blazing hot out. I remember being drenched in sweat, wondering where we were
going to end up. When it came time for me to sleep, the car was so packed I had to
move in awkward positions to get comfortable and use cardboard boxes as pillows.
We could not afford to pull over for potty breaks so my parents had my sister and I
pee in a jar. Gross right? But that was all we could do. There was a countdown to
when the hurricane was coming and we had to get as far away as possible. Even
though we traveled for days, we only got as far as Woodsville which was only
about two hours from where I lived. A two hour trip had been stretched out to days
because of the traffic. We were notified to find shelter and we ended up in a high

Katy Perry takes a similar approach by creating a song that allows people to be the
way they are. Katy Perry had created the song Fireworks. This song is an
inspirational song that allows people to reveal themselves to the true world instead
of keeping it a secret. Katy is trying to portray the fact that people should not be
afraid to represent the way they truly are. She wants everyone to show his or her
true colors . In a sense, Katy wants to people to embrace what they are. In the first
few lines she states, Do you ever feel like a plastic bag. Drifting through the wind.
Wanting to start again (Fireworks). This part of the song reveals that a lot of people
go with the flow. They just follow the norms of society and do not fight against it.
She continues on to talk about how people continue to go with the flow until she
states, Do you know that there s still a chance for you. Cause there s a spark in you
(Fireworks). This portion of the song reveals there is hope even if want to go
against the norm. Just a small push is needed in order to get over the hurdle. Then
Katy states, Cause baby you re a firework. Come and show em what you re worth.
Make em go oh, oh, oh! As you shoot across the sky y y (Fireworks). When you do
reveal yourself, it will feel like a huge burden is lifted off your shoulders. Katy is
trying to say to her fans be motivated and keep reaching for the stars. Being unique
might be a bad thing, but don t let their voice reach you.
37. Rhetorical Analysis Of Why We Can T Wait
Along with being an advocate for civil rights, Martin Luther King Jr. was a skilled
writer and public speaker. He wrote many books and delivered a multitude of
speeches all over the country. In an excerpt from his book, Why We Can t Wait,
King uses a plethora of rhetorical strategies to move his audience, the people of
America. He specifically is reaching out to the African Americanpopulation in the
1960s to encourage them to take the necessary steps to gain freedom.
The specific excerpt can be divided into five unique sections. The first section
focuses on setting. King uses loaded diction and imagery to describe the scene of a
young Negro boy in the 1960s. Similarly, in the next paragraph, King describes a
scene of a young Negro girl ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Valley Forge. In concluding this section, King references Lincoln s Emancipation
Proclamation that was supposed to ensure equality in America, but equality has
never arrived because African Americans are still facing discrimination. His appeal
to logic gives the black audience proof of their worth so that they can see why they
deserve freedom. By including the historical events, King hopes that people will not
forget that it was Negros who helped to establish America, land of the free.
In his fourth section, Martin Luther King exercises the use of repetition. He starts
numerous sentences in a row with They knew. He is referring to the little Negro boy
and girl he started off with in his writing. He wants his words to be implanted in his
readers minds. By introducing each new sentence with the same two words, King s
message was more meaningful. He says, They knew something about current events.

include Jefferson, AL; Stockton, CA; Harrisburg, PA; San Bernardino, CA;
Mammoth Lakes, CA; Central Falls, RI and Boise County, ID. Between these eight
broke cities Mammoth Lakes, Harrisburg and Boise County were amongst those that
were dismissed. The Chapter 9 list of cities has racked up billions of dollars
cumulatively in liabilities which has resulted in the citizens requests for relief... Show

It is the federal government s duty to take action on behalf of the state and its people.
History has shown us when the federal government does not take affirmative action
and assure the people matters are in order; people become frantic, hence the 1920 s
stock market crash. According to the Wall Street Journal, the federal government
should not be held accountable for everything. In their views, the current level of
expectation regarding the federal government is extremely unrealistic. It is only fair
to agree with the Wall Street Journal. The people should realize that the federal
government cannot supervise every aspect of government or the citizens or each
individual. The federal government should not feel obligated nor should they provide
funding to any cities to preserve them from going into bankruptcy. Unless the federal
government is a direct contributor, the government should not be held responsible to
bail out any city and I believe the idea alone is very detrimental to the current
economy. At this very moment the United States total national deficit currently
stands at $16,787,451,118,147. Opening the door for bailouts is comparable to
opening Pandora s Box, a very dangerous thing for our economy and for our
children s futures. I do expect the federal government to step in, formulate a plan,
and seek ways to get the city out of debt;
39. J.P. Morgan and Ragtime Essay
John Pierpont Morgan:
The turn of the century in American, when E.L. Doctorow s novel Ragtime is set,
was a time marked by rapid technological developments and industrialization. These
years also brought a heavy flood of immigrants as well as an increasingly urban
American landscape. Technological advancements enabled increased efficiency and
mass production. However, Doctorow clearly brings into question the consequences
of this new technology for the average American worker. J.P. Morgan s discussion
with Henry Ford about the assembly line s innovations brings this debate to the front.
Doctorow writes, quot; From these principles Ford established the final proposition of
the theory of industrial manufacture not only that the parts of ... Show more content

Junius Morgan wrote to the company asking for a position for his son and
advertising the fact that his son had many admirable qualities for a worker.
Although, J.P. Morgan was denied a promotion when his father requested one, he
did receive a promotion in the firm later in his career. In 1860, Morgan left
Duncan, Sherman and founded J. P. Morgan and Company to act as an agent for his
father s business. When Junius Morgan died in 1890, J.P. became head of the
London house. Pierpont now was able to control all the dealing between the New
York based firm and their oversees partner.
Pierpont was now at the head of houses in New York, Philadelphia, London, and
Paris. He was the commanding figure in international finance. In 1869, a war over
railroads began, including Jay Gould and Jim Fisk, both famous financiers. Gould
already had dominant control over the Erie railroad and began to buy up stock in
the Albany amp; Susquehanna Railroad. Morgan developed into the nation s
railroad reorganizer. In 1886, the Philadelphia and Reading Railroad was in great
difficulty with a deficit of six million dollars a year. Morgan was brought in to
slash the value of the watered stock, reduce interest rates on the bonds, and assess
the shareholders for more money. 1888, J.P. Morgan was again called on to
reorganize railroads in the east. He reorganized the Chesapeake amp; Ohio and the
Baltimore amp; Ohio. He often encountered some resistance
40. Boston Bus Training
We all had to be at the school by three in the morning. Everyone had to get their
luggage and marching uniform checked before going to the bus. After a photo shoot,
we all scrambled on to the bus. After the bus driver told us the rules, the bus started
up and began leaving the school.
Just about everyone slept the rest of the night until morning. Once we woke up, the
bus stopped. Bus drivers are required to stop the bus every four hours. We got off
the bus and got ourselves some breakfast. Most of us went to McDonalds and the
rest got whatever seemed good to them. We got back on the bus and drove another
four hours. Even though the bus ride was long, we enjoyed ourselves the best we
could. Our bus probably watched every movie we brought along ... Show more

They re a lot of people and traffic in Boston, and our bus took up half the road. Our
tour guide jumped on the bus and told what we re going to be seeing and asked us
questions. Finally, everyone ran off the bus and stretched out after making a stop.
The tour guide took us to a church where Benjamin Franklin got baptized. Then we
walked to the Harvard college where Benjamin Franklin and John F. Kennedy
studied. We walk around a grave and saw some historical people that got buried there.
After all that, I was hungry. Our tour guide took us to a place where there was a
bunch of different options to eat at. I got a piece of pizza and sat outside with the
others. As I was enjoying my lunch, I told myself that I m glad we went to Boston
first before New York. It seems like there was sirens going off all the time, whether
that d be the police, ambulance, or fire truck.
The Next day, we went to the New England Sea Aquarium. Once we got inside their
s a big glass tank in the middle of the aquarium that went up about 4 floors. As you
re looking at animals you made yours up to the top of the tank. Theirs a sea animal
profession talking to you about different species of sea turtles and fish. Just outside of
the aquarium was a sea lion exhibit, and I probably watch them the longest. Its fun
watching them interact with their
41. Arguments Against Gun Ownership
In the aspect of the business world and day to day life there are many U.S. civilians
who have made the choice to own firearms for self defense. Those who oppose gun
ownership believe that these gun owners are a threat to themselves and others
because they have exposure to firearms, so is this the case? Statistically I would
say no. Women can be subject to sexual abuse which is awful, and as a general
whole, men tend to be stronger and able to over power a women and take
advantage of them. It would seem reasonable for women to have a system to
provide themselves with a mechanical advantage over these men. Well according to
Kleck and Gertz a group of profesores who study firearmviolence at Florida State
University as many as 200,000 women use
42. Dorothea Lange And The Migrant Woman
During the first half of the 20th century, Photographs, songs, and cartoons tried to
interpret the problems of the time through different kinds of imagery and tone with
varying amounts of success, from praise and awe to disgust and rejection.
In the early 20th century, Americans were suffering from the Great Depressionand its
high unemployment rates, droughts and terrible living conditions, so when they first
saw the series of photographs by Dorothea Lange, including the Migrant Mother,
they were in awe of how it captured their situation, as well as their beliefs, perfectly.
Not only did they represent the people as dignified human beings whose plight would
elicit sympathy, not ridicule, Lange s photos captured the idea that Poverty was a
distressing matter..., not an embarrassing one, simply by photographing people on the
streets they were living on, filming them in their element. People were in pain and
just by taking photos of this problem, with some modifications and positioning,
Lange s art became a tireless and universal symbol of suffering in the face of
adversity with its portrayal of regular people in dire situations. What also made the
photos as popular as it was, and still is, is how they reference fundamental and
historic religious symbolism, especially the Migrant Mother whose imagery of a
woman tirelessly caring for her children alludes to the similar historical
representations of Madonna and her child, Jesus Christ. While beloved for the
realism of her

they do not conduct any direct market exchange with the company, they have major
roles and relationships to the company to maintain is success.
Recommend ways the stakeholders can influence the destiny of your business.
There are many ways that the stakeholder can influence the destiny of the company.
The first influence that the stakeholders have is the voting power. This means that the
stakeholders have the right to cast votes. The stakeholders that usually cast the votes
are the stockholders and their voting power depends on the percentage of stock they
own in the company. The customers have the economic power. The customercan
exercise this power by refusing to use the services of the bank. The customer may
even boycott the bank if they fell that the bank is operating unethical or illegally. The
government has the political power to make or break the bank. The government
exercises this power through legislation, regulations, or lawsuits. The stakeholders

Dear Mr. Smith:
Enclosed is a copy of my justification report regarding the funding and replacement of
the current office coffee maker with the Keurig coffee maker. This report is a
summary of my findings from the last year of working in the office and separate
research conducted outside of the office. This document will assist in justifying the
funding for a new and improved ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Coffee that is not consumed in a short period of time is thrown out due to it tasting
burned. Coffee pot is not cleaned before a fresh pot of coffee is made. The price
paid for a cup of coffee is the same no matter what size of cup used. People do not
consistently pay their coffee dues. Pouring coffee from the pot to the cup creates a
messy area. People do not clean their mess. A new pot of coffee is not always
started after the last cup has been poured. Coffee that has been started too late in the
day is usually thrown out.
It is possible to solve all of these issues while maintaining the same coffee maker. But
the problems will recur. Addressing these recurring issues in the same manner is not
the solution. The solution is to change the method of coffee preparation.

the office and the proposed replacement model. The current coffee maker is the Mr.

models. This will enable as fair a comparison as possible. The type of coffee used in
the comparison is Folgers Gourmet Selections Black
46. Plea Bargaining Argumentative Analysis
No one likes to be incarcerated in a six by eight foot room for twenty three hours of
the day. Rather than having the defendant plead guilty, many cases around the U.S.
have plea bargaining as a form of negotiation between the defendant, prosecutor, and
defense counsel on behalf of the interests involved (Schmalleger 2016). It has
quickened the judicial system by having cases no longer lead to trial and helps the
prosecutor and the defendant agree to a guilty plea if the prosecutor is unsure of a
win. Plea bargaining helps the courts run smoothly when they have a large amount of
work. Considering the type of defendant, plea bargaining often times comes with
conditions where the defendant helps investigators or other law enforcement agencies
