This document proposes a new method for air conditioning systems in automobiles that uses a vapor absorption refrigeration system (VARS) instead of a traditional vapor compression refrigeration system (VCRS). VARS uses low-grade heat from the car's engine rather than high-grade mechanical work, has fewer moving parts which reduces noise and wear, can operate at lower pressures, and uses ammonia as a refrigerant which is non-toxic. The proposed system would use lithium molybdate as a corrosion inhibitor and absorb ammonia-water refrigerant with desiccants. It is argued that this VARS method could provide improved engine life while overcoming issues with fuel consumption compared to traditional VCRS, meeting demands for heat
