1. MARCO POLO.
Marco Polo was an Italian traveller. He was born in Venice
Nicolo (Marco’s father) and Maffeo ( his uncle) travelled to China in
1260.
Kublai Khan was the Emperor of China at that time. He asked for
Missionaries to go to China.
Marco Polo started his travels when he was only 17.
Kublai Khan made Marco a Mongrel Official for 17 years.
While in China Marco wrote notes about the parts of China that he
visited.
In 1295 after 24 years the Polos returned to Venice.
When Marco was put to prison he wrote about his travels in China.
2. During his journeys he saw : deserts and mountains, Caspian Sea
and Gobi Desert.
