Works Harder Than Any Other)

2. • At the Charles A. Tindley Accelerated
School, students are prepared for college in a
very rigorous way. By junior year, many of the
students are taking college courses. In fact, the
slogan for the school is “College…or Die.”
Students are not referred to as student, but as
scholars and it takes even more to be an
athlete at Tindley than most other high school.
ISHAA regulates than in order for an athlete to
be eligible to play he/she must have no more
than two F’s. At Tindley, in order to play on any
sports team, a scholar can have no more than
two C’s and there are no D’s.
10. Layup drills are especially important. Here the boys are playing a game of Shirts vs. Skins.
11. Showing off a little from time to time doesn’t hurt either.
12.
13. Coach mandates that even injured players still need to come to practice.
Trebor G. was injured last week and is shown here helping
out at practice in his school uniform.
14. Here Coach is laying down the plan of preparation for this weeks game
before ending practice
17. In order to maintain the grades necessary, Scholar Athletes must work around the clock.
Here Courtland C. works on one of his many assigned essays.
18. Trebor G. studies with a friend. It’s important that Scholar Athletes
learn to be leaders on the court and in the classroom
19. TJ H. (Who has multiple Division I scholarship offers) takes notes in class
20. TJ H. and Brendan W. both need to pay close attention in class in
In order to stay eligible on the court
21. TJ H. and Jalen L. look on as the teacher uses a video to illustrate a point
23. Pre-game warmups are essential for any team. Here we see the team running

31. At halftime and up 5 points, Coach tells the team the necessity of intensity
and cooperation. He believes that this team can win the game by 20 points
if they work hard.
32. Coach’s words must have had an effect. Because in the second half, the
Tindley Tigers took a 17 point lead and didn’t look back.
Victory is sweet.
