This document summarizes cancer problems and control activities in Thua Thien-Hue Province, Vietnam. It finds that the leading cancers are liver, stomach, lung, oral cavity, and lymphoma in males, and breast, stomach, lung, liver and oral cavity in females. Efforts at cancer control include prevention programs targeting tobacco use, hepatitis B vaccination, and nutrition education. Secondary prevention includes breast and cervical cancer screening programs. Tertiary prevention is conducted at Hue Central Hospital through radiation therapy, palliative care, and training courses. While cancer control efforts have begun, challenges remain around data quality, resource shortages, and public/practitioner knowledge.
