Editor's Notes
Purpose: To show how embedded generation can change the direction of power flow and therefore affect voltage profiles.
Graph shows annual RO % targets, in green, and actual RO submissions history, in red. The gap between target and reality represents the overall shortfall of ROCs redeemed by all suppliers as against the relevant RO target. Each such ROC of shortfall must be bought out at the prevailing buy-out price and the sum of all such payments constitutes the buy-out fund, from which the recycle payment is calculated. Buyout is published annually in advance. Recycle is only know 6 months after end of Compliance Period. CP runs from April to March, recycle published by Ofgem in October. Fixed price ensures full payment of agreed price monthly (the recycle value is irrelevant to the Generator). Good for cash flow but fixed price offers are cautious, so not likely to offer the best £ value. We can only offer fixed price ROCs up to 3 years ahead. With Admin/ Processing Fee arrangement, Smartest pays recycle value less % or fee in November, after receiving the funds from Ofgem. Long term PPA may feature combination of above options e.g. fixed Price ROCs for duration of initial fixed power price period, reverting to Processing Fee or Admin % arrangement for remainder of PPA term.
