The study validated a 3-factor structure for the adapted questionnaire measuring: 1) the importance of ethics, 2) the benefits of social responsibility, and 3) the subordination of social responsibility. Confirmatory factor analysis supported the 3-dimensional model. The adapted questionnaire demonstrated good reliability and validity for measuring cultural influences on ethical perceptions in Spain.
Francisco Diaz Bretones presented a study on immigrant entrepreneurship in Andalusia, Spain. The study aims to analyze the behavioral profiles and precursors/barriers for non-EU immigrant entrepreneurs in Andalusia. Variables studied include employment history, migratory history, social networking, motivations, and sociodemographics, which will be compared to a non-entrepreneurial group. The document discusses migration, informal economy, and normalization. It defines the informal economy as unregulated income-earning activities excluded from contractual employment. Factors that influence participation in the informal economy include limited social networks, language barriers, and cultural/family ties. The document presents results from a study of 67 questionnaires and 3 focus groups with immigrants and locals involved in the informal economy in Spain. It found that work experience and family business activity were correlated with starting one's own business. Economic motives like avoiding costs and increasing income drove participation in the informal sector. Locals cited a lack of economic resources and information as influences, while immigrants sought more social and financial support to help normalize their situations.
