This document outlines 5 disaster risks found in school premises and their solutions. The risks are: 1) dead tree branches that can hit people or property in strong winds, 2) faulty electric wiring that could cause fires or blackouts, 3) cracks in classroom walls that could collapse in earthquakes endangering students, 4) slippery areas prone to flash floods that could cause injuries, and 5) landslide-prone slopes that could destroy buildings below in earthquakes or heavy rain. The solutions proposed are removing dangerous objects, fixing wiring, renovating cracked walls, adding signs and flood controls, and reinforcing slopes with beams to prevent landslides.

3. 1.Dead Tree Branch Stuck In a Tree

4. Hazards
 First and foremost it can hit students when
there is a strong wind.
 It can be a dangerous if it flies off the sky
when there is strong storm or a typhoon.
 It can damage the school property if it flies
off in the rooftop and cars nearby the school .

5. Solution
Removing the branch and other more
dangerous flying or falling objects can
help avoid further injuries and
destructions when a storm or typhoon
happens.

6. 2.Faulty and Exposed Electric Wiring

7. Hazards
It can result in a short circuit.
It can lead to fire.
It can cause power shortage that
leads to school having no
electricity.

8. Solution
Fixing the electric wirings can avoid
a fire and power shortages.
Can prevent loss of life and
property.

9. 3.Cracks and Breaks on Classrooms Walls

10. Hazards
 Poses a big risk when an earthquake happens.
 The foundations of this walls are not that good that
can result in a fall of building when a strong
earthquake (7.0 and more magnitude) happens.
 Can endanger the lives of students and teachers
who happened to be using this classrooms.

11. Solution
Renovating and adding a support on these
walls can strengthen its resistance when an
earthquake happens.
When there are too many cracks avoid and
don’t use those classrooms to avoid harm.

12. 4.Slippery and Flash Flood Prone Area

13. Hazards
 Dangerously slippery when step in when its wet.
 Can cause a slip that can injure and cause a more
dangerous injury like a trauma in the head, “caused
by slipping with the head first touching the
ground.”
 Flood prone areas can have an infectious disease
just like Leptospirosis when students soak their feet
with open wounds.

14. Solution
Adding a sign before these areas can prevent accidents.
Making a flood control countermeasures in this low-
lying areas can help prevent the spreads of the disease.
Issuing an extensive pest control and medical healthcare
in the school can help prevent diseases.

15. 5.Landslide Prone Areas

16. Hazard
When those walls collapse because of an
earthquake or heavy rains, it can cause a
destruction of vegetation below it and harm
the buildings facing below it.
Has a potential of destroying properties of
school when left unnoticed.

17. Solution
Adding an additional support steel beams in
these walls can secure its foundation on the
ground that can prevent landslide.
Relocating important properties far from this
hazards can avoid an impending destruction.
