The Nissan Qashqai provided good protection for adult occupants in crashes, with the passenger compartment remaining stable. Child occupants were also well protected, with tests indicating minimized head movement and injuries. While the bumper offered good pedestrian protection in some areas, results were predominantly poor in more outboard locations. Standard safety features included electronic stability control and seatbelt reminders. Optional autonomous emergency braking performed adequately at high speeds but was not assessed for low-speed city driving.
