The Jeep Compass received a 90% rating for adult occupant protection, 83% for child occupant protection, 64% for pedestrian protection, and 59% for safety assist. It earned high marks for frontal crash protection for both adult occupants and child occupants. However, protection in the side pole impact test was rated as poor. The vehicle had good standard safety features for child occupants but achieved only an adequate rating for chest protection of the 6-year-old child dummy in frontal crashes. Pedestrian protection was predominantly good except the vehicle lacks autonomous emergency braking for pedestrians. Lane departure warning and autonomous emergency braking performed well in highway testing.
