As is the case with most healthcare organisations, the sheer amount of data that they held was
overwhelming. This was then compounded by data being held in various silos within separate systems,
making the creation of a single, transparent and accurate data view hard to achieve.

5 reasons why Surrey and Borders chose CXAIR
Data migration
Surrey and Borders required a solution that would be able to add a reporting layer to their
data warehouse as part of a Trust-wide data migration from RiO to SystmOne. CXAIR was used
to identify shortfalls in the migration process, uncover where data was stored and update the
process. The Trust was then able to locate data within RiO and map where this data should be
relocated to within SystmOne.
Since then, CXAIR has been used to index the new views created within the Trust’s internally built
warehouse across SystmOne. A series of filters and calculations are applied to this amalgamated
data for analysis and output reports.

Data management and reporting
CXAIR is used as an enterprise wide data management and reporting platform that combines data
from the Trust’s data warehouse and other siloed disparate datasets, allowing key stakeholders to
apply best data management practices to empower decision making throughout the Trust. This has
greatly streamlined activity reporting, consolidating 150 reports down to 15.

Data sharing
By introducing CXAIR, the Trust are now much more able to share data internally and as member
of the Surrey Heartlands STP, they have been able to extend and support the sharing of data
across the 10 other member organisations. This has enabled the creation of a holistic view of
activity that is securely shared quickly and easily. The Trust is now able to seamlessly integrate new
datasets from service and Trust mergers resulting in continuous care and maintaining operational
performance during these periods.

Joined up view
It was vitally important for the Trust to find a solution that had the ability to provide them with
a holistic view of their data, combing structured and unstructured datasets and giving them the
insight required to make care and operational decisions. Previously siloed Mental Health and
Community data sets are now analysed within one view speeding up time from data collection to
insight and action. Waiting time dashboards have been provided to users throughout the Trust
showing critical activity based information in near real time.

Self-service technology
The Trust required a solution that could be used by anyone, anywhere to help improve efficiency,
reduce an over reliance on IT and speed up time to insight. CXAIR’s intuitive technology and
‘Google’ style search capability ensures that users of all technical abilities can gain the much-
needed insight to make decisions. The Trust has recently rolled out CXAIR to all their staff in an
enterprise wide deployment after carrying out a soft roll out to Directors and Key Clinicians. Users
are now able to carry out ad-hoc querying, self-service report building and analysis depending on
their access rights.

5 reasons why South Staffordshire and Shropshire
chose CXAIR
Joined up view
South Staffordshire and Shropshire required a solution that would allow them to create a joined-
up view of all their disparate structured, semi structured and unstructured datasets, providing
a holistic view of their care and operational information. The Trust can now make near real-
time decisions and inform stakeholders throughout the organisation quicker than ever before.
Previously the information department hadn’t felt confident that they were providing complete
accuracy of metrics and submissions. CXAIR has solved their issues around delivering transparency
and accuracy of data, restoring faith in their metrics and submissions.

Take back control
The Trust had a key driver to bring their IT back inhouse as it was previously provided by HIS. They
needed a data warehouse to replace their shared service warehouse, to take back control of their
data. With CXAIR the trust has been able to create a self-service data lake where the Trust can
effectively manage their data, forming the foundation for a self-service data driven healthcare
strategy.2
Regulatory and management reporting
The Trust now has fully automated IAPT’s mandatory dataset submissions and Trust-wide
management KPI dashboard reports. These help to streamline regulatory reporting and reduce the
time spent meeting requirements, enabling the Trust to drive efficiency savings and ensure data
accuracy. They are now in the process of automating CDS and MHSDS submissions. The Trust are
now able to submit contract monitoring outputs for commissioners easier than ever before, CXAIR
has saved 3 days per month on IAPT returns.

Scalable solution
The Trust required a solution that would provide them with a robust infrastructure to meet
national, local and internal agendas in respect of all information requirements. The solution
needed to be flexible, allowing them to adapt and develop depending on changing requirements
in line with their drive to improve and meet ever changing requirements and enhancements. CXAIR
provides them with a solution which can scale and adapt to any future changes.4
Automated and streamline reporting
The Trust are now able to carry out a range of different reporting activities to meet internal
and external requirements. This is improving data accuracy and transparency whilst delivering
efficiency savings and empowering report ownership within staff. Corporate reporting, KPIs and
dashboards have helped to improve the speed of data collection internally, leading to readily
actionable insight and reporting.5

5 Reasons why two Mental Health Trusts chose CXAIR

  • 1. 1 As is the case with most healthcare organisations, the sheer amount of data that they held was overwhelming. This was then compounded by data being held in various silos within separate systems, making the creation of a single, transparent and accurate data view hard to achieve. CXAIR has provided them with the ability to combine structured, semi structured and unstructured datasets together, enabling them to create a holistic view of previously siloed data that meets both internal and external requirements. CXAIR’s intuitive technology now means that all stakeholders can combine, search, analyse and report on data, democratising data insight across the organisation. CXAIR holds the key for organisations that are looking to embrace a data driven healthcare strategy. So what has made two of the UK’s leading Mental Health Trusts chose CXAIR as their data management and reporting platform?
  • 2. 2 • 140 services over 47 sites • 2,500+ members of staff • Serving 1.3 million population 5 reasons why Surrey and Borders chose CXAIR Data migration Surrey and Borders required a solution that would be able to add a reporting layer to their data warehouse as part of a Trust-wide data migration from RiO to SystmOne. CXAIR was used to identify shortfalls in the migration process, uncover where data was stored and update the process. The Trust was then able to locate data within RiO and map where this data should be relocated to within SystmOne. Since then, CXAIR has been used to index the new views created within the Trust’s internally built warehouse across SystmOne. A series of filters and calculations are applied to this amalgamated data for analysis and output reports. 1 Data management and reporting CXAIR is used as an enterprise wide data management and reporting platform that combines data from the Trust’s data warehouse and other siloed disparate datasets, allowing key stakeholders to apply best data management practices to empower decision making throughout the Trust. This has greatly streamlined activity reporting, consolidating 150 reports down to 15. 2 Data sharing By introducing CXAIR, the Trust are now much more able to share data internally and as member of the Surrey Heartlands STP, they have been able to extend and support the sharing of data across the 10 other member organisations. This has enabled the creation of a holistic view of activity that is securely shared quickly and easily. The Trust is now able to seamlessly integrate new datasets from service and Trust mergers resulting in continuous care and maintaining operational performance during these periods. 3 Joined up view It was vitally important for the Trust to find a solution that had the ability to provide them with a holistic view of their data, combing structured and unstructured datasets and giving them the insight required to make care and operational decisions. Previously siloed Mental Health and Community data sets are now analysed within one view speeding up time from data collection to insight and action. Waiting time dashboards have been provided to users throughout the Trust showing critical activity based information in near real time. 4 Self-service technology The Trust required a solution that could be used by anyone, anywhere to help improve efficiency, reduce an over reliance on IT and speed up time to insight. CXAIR’s intuitive technology and ‘Google’ style search capability ensures that users of all technical abilities can gain the much- needed insight to make decisions. The Trust has recently rolled out CXAIR to all their staff in an enterprise wide deployment after carrying out a soft roll out to Directors and Key Clinicians. Users are now able to carry out ad-hoc querying, self-service report building and analysis depending on their access rights. 5
  • 3. 3 • 16+ services over 5 main sites and 65+ clinics • 2,700+ members of staff • Serving 1.1 million population 5 reasons why South Staffordshire and Shropshire chose CXAIR Joined up view South Staffordshire and Shropshire required a solution that would allow them to create a joined- up view of all their disparate structured, semi structured and unstructured datasets, providing a holistic view of their care and operational information. The Trust can now make near real- time decisions and inform stakeholders throughout the organisation quicker than ever before. Previously the information department hadn’t felt confident that they were providing complete accuracy of metrics and submissions. CXAIR has solved their issues around delivering transparency and accuracy of data, restoring faith in their metrics and submissions. 1 Take back control The Trust had a key driver to bring their IT back inhouse as it was previously provided by HIS. They needed a data warehouse to replace their shared service warehouse, to take back control of their data. With CXAIR the trust has been able to create a self-service data lake where the Trust can effectively manage their data, forming the foundation for a self-service data driven healthcare strategy.2 Regulatory and management reporting The Trust now has fully automated IAPT’s mandatory dataset submissions and Trust-wide management KPI dashboard reports. These help to streamline regulatory reporting and reduce the time spent meeting requirements, enabling the Trust to drive efficiency savings and ensure data accuracy. They are now in the process of automating CDS and MHSDS submissions. The Trust are now able to submit contract monitoring outputs for commissioners easier than ever before, CXAIR has saved 3 days per month on IAPT returns. 3 Scalable solution The Trust required a solution that would provide them with a robust infrastructure to meet national, local and internal agendas in respect of all information requirements. The solution needed to be flexible, allowing them to adapt and develop depending on changing requirements in line with their drive to improve and meet ever changing requirements and enhancements. CXAIR provides them with a solution which can scale and adapt to any future changes.4 Automated and streamline reporting The Trust are now able to carry out a range of different reporting activities to meet internal and external requirements. This is improving data accuracy and transparency whilst delivering efficiency savings and empowering report ownership within staff. Corporate reporting, KPIs and dashboards have helped to improve the speed of data collection internally, leading to readily actionable insight and reporting.5
