1. ELISA’S TUTORIAL AGENCY
Our Objectives
• To impart an excellent knowledge and understanding of academic subjects to our
students through a systematic approach in our teaching methods
• To teach these abilities to children aged between 3 and 15 and to prepare them for the
7+ examination, the 11+ examination, school entry exams and assessments
• To provide advice and guidance to parents of children with learning difficulties
• To advise and guide parents on how to engender a positive home environment for
successful learning
• To make students aware of their abilities, how to improve their learning techniques
and build their confidence and approach towards tackling examinations
• To teach a competitive mindset and examination technique
• To encourage enthusiasm, build self-confidence and create self-motivation in students
Our Ethos
The majority of parents want their children to succeed academically. In an era that has seen
so much pressure on families to provide the right environment for children to maximise their
academic abilities, Elisa has created a private tutorial 'academy' which allows a child to
flourish through the creation of a bespoke teaching framework. With her experienced and
qualified teaching staff, effective communication skills build a bond with the student which
accelerates learning. Our students' pass rate is second to none.
Elisa's 30+ years of experience has convinced her that children are ready to learn from a
relatively young age. This encourages development of the child's natural inquisitiveness. If
this interest is nurtured, progress will follow rapidly leading to a strong performance when
they are challenged by examinations at ages 7 and 11. Together with the parent(s) we provide
the framework to fulfill their ambitions and enhance confidence and self-belief.
Elisa believes passionately that parents must be fully engaged in their child's education if that
child is to build his or her confidence to succeed Educating your child is about a tri-partite
relationship between the child, the tutor and the parent(s). We all need to monitor progress.
There are a number of learning facilities offered at Elisa's Tutorial Agency and these are
scheduled on her web-site together with the subjects taught. However, the core facilities are:
Group Sessions, where between 4-8 children are taught by one or two teachers, and the 1:1
sessions which complement the Group Sessions.
This is to ensure that each student receives the maximum individual tutoring required to
produce a successful outcome at the examination stage. We aim to improve their general
knowledge and learning techniques in each session with the involvement of the parent
through a structured programme.
2. Bespoke homework 'packs' have been developed by Elisa's Tutorial Agency to enable each
student to maintain a disciplined and informative approach to their learning within a weekly
routine. This is discussed with the parent(s) in order not to overload a student as we
recognise that they are also coping with their normal school work. However, we aim to
complement this and work closely with their school in developing the students understanding
of the subject matter within the curriculum. Feedback is given at the end of every session.
