This document discusses discovery and access to hybrid collections containing both physical and digital materials. It provides a case study of the John (Yonni) Kenyon Chapman Papers, which contain both physical and digital materials. The digital materials from this collection have been ingested into the Carolina Digital Repository. The finding aid for hybrid collections acts as a gateway for discovery, providing links from the description in the finding aid directly to the digitized materials online. Access control and different user roles are managed through metadata to restrict access to certain content if needed. Further assessment is still needed on usability and how well the current models provide accessible discovery and use of hybrid collections for researchers.
