7. Take the metro to Zoloti Vorota and
before you surface, admire the
beautiful arches at that station

9. You will see the imposing Golden
Gate as soon as you exit the station

11. Climb the bell tower at St. Sophia
Cathedral

13. Take some time to admire the mosaic of
the Virgin Mary at the cathedral once
you come down

Motherland Statue which towers over

the Maydan Nezalejnosti, the
epicenter of the Orange
Revolution, where you can see the
independence statue

33. A short walk will take you to the
People’s Friendship Arch

Try out O’Panas, touted at the best
place for blinis in the city (Metro stop:
Ploshcha Lva Tolstoho)

37. And don’t leave the city without trying
at least one helping of ‘borscht’
(beetroot soup)!
