Characterization and the Kinetics of drying at the drying oven and with micro...Open Access Research Paper
The objective of this work is to contribute to valorization de Nephelium lappaceum by the characterization of kinetics of drying of seeds of Nephelium lappaceum. The seeds were dehydrated until a constant mass respectively in a drying oven and a microwawe oven. The temperatures and the powers of drying are respectively: 50, 60 and 70°C and 140, 280 and 420 W. The results show that the curves of drying of seeds of Nephelium lappaceum do not present a phase of constant kinetics. The coefficients of diffusion vary between 2.09.10-8 to 2.98. 10-8m-2/s in the interval of 50°C at 70°C and between 4.83×10-07 at 9.04×10-07 m-8/s for the powers going of 140 W with 420 W the relation between Arrhenius and a value of energy of activation of 16.49 kJ. mol-1 expressed the effect of the temperature on effective diffusivity.

Climate Change All over the World .pptxsairaanwer024
Climate change refers to significant and lasting changes in the average weather patterns over periods ranging from decades to millions of years. It encompasses both global warming driven by human emissions of greenhouse gases and the resulting large-scale shifts in weather patterns. While climate change is a natural phenomenon, human activities, particularly since the Industrial Revolution, have accelerated its pace and intensity
"Understanding the Carbon Cycle: Processes, Human Impacts, and Strategies for...MMariSelvam4
The carbon cycle is a critical component of Earth's environmental system, governing the movement and transformation of carbon through various reservoirs, including the atmosphere, oceans, soil, and living organisms. This complex cycle involves several key processes such as photosynthesis, respiration, decomposition, and carbon sequestration, each contributing to the regulation of carbon levels on the planet.
Human activities, particularly fossil fuel combustion and deforestation, have significantly altered the natural carbon cycle, leading to increased atmospheric carbon dioxide concentrations and driving climate change. Understanding the intricacies of the carbon cycle is essential for assessing the impacts of these changes and developing effective mitigation strategies.
By studying the carbon cycle, scientists can identify carbon sources and sinks, measure carbon fluxes, and predict future trends. This knowledge is crucial for crafting policies aimed at reducing carbon emissions, enhancing carbon storage, and promoting sustainable practices. The carbon cycle's interplay with climate systems, ecosystems, and human activities underscores its importance in maintaining a stable and healthy planet.
In-depth exploration of the carbon cycle reveals the delicate balance required to sustain life and the urgent need to address anthropogenic influences. Through research, education, and policy, we can work towards restoring equilibrium in the carbon cycle and ensuring a sustainable future for generations to come.

2. Change
Nothing in nature is constant. Especially, on planet Earth.
All parts of the world have special climates due to location
on the planet. Due to location not every part expieriences
all 4 seasons . Living in North Rockland we are fortunate
enough to experience them all. But, in recent years the
seasons have run longer than normal the change in climate
has be noticeable.
2
3. Rockland County
● October 2011, snowstorm hits the North East
● Closing down streets, schools, and even halloween celebrations
● Hurricane Sandy hit us in October 2012
o The school district closed schools for 5 days
o Homes were without power for more than a week.
o Homes got flooded and were destroyed from fallen powerlines and
trees
● Blizzard Juno hit in January 2015, missed our community and the storm
went around us but, still hit the state of NY
● Rockland County & NYC had a curfew; no cars out past 9
3
4. Evidence of Climate Change
● The proportion of precipitation that is falling in very heavy rain events has
jumped by 71 percent in the Northeast, by 37 percent in the Midwest and
by 27 percent in the South,
● sweeping changes have been caused by an average warming of less than 2
degrees Fahrenheit over most land areas of the country in the past century
● If greenhouse gases like carbon dioxide and methane continue to escalate
at a rapid pace, the warming could exceed 10 degrees by the end of this
century.
4
5. Evidence of Climate Change
Sea Level Rise-Global sea level rose about 17 centimeters (6.7 inches) in
the last century. The rate in the last decade, however, is nearly double that of
the last century.
Global Temperature Rise- The earth has warmed since 1880, most of
this warming has occured since the 1970s with all 10 of the warmest years
occuring in the past 12 years. The surface temperature continues to increase
5
6. The Impact
6
In an effort to melt the snow on the roads, our community has
been using salt on the roads before most snow storms. While it
did help to get our roads back to driveable condition it had a
great negative impact on our roads condition. The salt dried out
the roads and we are now experiencing massive potholes which
are damaging our cars.
7. 7
Due to Hurricane Sandy back in 2012, Most
houses were out of power. Many people had to
buy generators. The grocery stores were sold out
of products quickly. The next 3 years, we had
massive snowstorms causing the schools to close
for days on end. Power was out for days, the
roads we horrible as the plows were creating
more potholes and salt was becoming hard to
purchase locally.
8. Policies of Climate change
Believe it or not the US is trying to make a united effort to help save the planet.
In June 2013, President Obama outlined the Climate Action Plan. His
Administration would cut carbon pollution, help prepare the United States for
the impacts of climate change, and continue to lead international efforts to
address global climate change.
8
9. What you can do
Keep the World BEAUTIFUL!
Every year at the beginning of spring the
community of Rockland County has a spring
cleaning day, where everyone participating is
helping to clean the community and help keep it
looking beautiful. You can do the same for your
community too!
9
10. Heat and cool Efficiently
Heating and cooling accounts for almost half your energy
bill costing thousands of dollars per year! There is a lot you
can do to drive down this cost. Depending on where you
live, you can cut down on the cost of your annual energy
bill by replacing your old heating and cooling equipment
with ENERGY STAR-qualified equipment. Theres many
solar powered alternatives that you can convert to not only
in your homes but cars as well.
10
11. REDUCE, REUSE, And RECYCLE!!!
Reducing, reusing, and recycling in your home or even on
the go helps conserve energy and reduces pollution and
greenhouse gas emissions from resource extraction,
manufacturing, and disposal. If there is a recycling program
in your community be apart of it. Recycle your
newspaper/magazines, beverage containers, papers, and
other goods. Also, composting your food and yard waste
reduces the amount of garbage that you send to landfills
and reduces greenhouse gas emissions.
11
12. Look for ENERGY STAR
Over their lifetime, products in your home that have earned the ENERGY STAR
label can reduce greenhouse gas emissions by about 130,000 pounds and
save you $11,000 on energy bills.
12
13. Spread the word
13
Tell family and friends that energy efficiency is good
for their homes and good for the environment because
it lowers greenhouse gas emissions and air pollution.
Tell them to spread the word too. Together we can help
our homes help us all.
