To complete a report, students must research their topic from at least two sources, taking notes on the source details and any relevant information. The document provides guidance on recording source information like author and title for books or website title and address for online sources. Students are advised to plan their research for ease of completion and use the summary sheet to document their findings from different sources to include in their final report.

1. TASK 3 – Research your topic
To complete your report you must research at least two different sources.
You should take notes of what you find. There are two stages to this:
1) You must write down details of your source
e.g. if it’s a book, write the author and title
[J. Bloggs, ‘A History of the Cold War’]
if it’s an internet site, write the title and address
[National Archives, www.nationalarchives.co.uk]
2) Write down any relevant or useful notes
Remember to plan your research so it is easier to complete (see Page 5).
