The 3rd edition of the Ateliers Portes Ouvertes du Mile-End (APO) will take place from May 20-22, featuring 100 Mile-End artists opening their studios to the public for free visits and tours between 1-6 PM daily. The event is organized by the Centre d'art et de diffusion CLARK and Ubisoft Montréal to showcase the artistic community and studios in the Mile-End neighborhood of Montreal. Participating artists include Karen Trask, Alice Jarry, and Tammy Forsythe, among others, and visitors will be able to explore various art centers, collective workshops and contemporary galleries.

MONTRÉAL, QUÉBEC – May 4, 2011 – From May 20 to 22, the Centre d’art et de
diffusion CLARK and Ubisoft Montréal present the 3rd Ateliers Portes Ouvertes du Mile-End
(APO). During three days, 100 Mile-End artists will open their studios to the public
between 1 PM and 6 PM. Visitors will be able to leisurely explore workshops and studios or
participate in a guided tour. All activities are free.

Claude Poissant, Artistic and Managing Director of Théâtre Petit à Petit, and spokesperson
for the 3rd edition of the APO, says: “Participating in the APO is sort of like entering the
Montréal art world through side doors, and freely roaming behind the scenes while getting
a sense of shapes, colors, materials and spaces. It is about seeing things with a new
perspective”.
Montréal and Mile-End residents are invited to explore the truly unique artistic
environment of the Mile-End by meeting those who nurture and create it. Painters,
sculptors, silkscreeners, photographers, videographers and other visual artists located
between Parc Avenue and Saint-Denis, Beaubien and Laurier Avenue will welcome visitors
and share their art.
“The APO exposes artists’ social, economic, and urban reality, uncovering myths
surrounding their lifestyle. These encounters are very stimulating for visitors on many
levels”, Mathieu Beauséjour, founder of the APO, says.
Many art centers, collective workshops and contemporary art galleries are also part of the
APO itinerary. The route can be easily walked or biked.

2. Karen Trask, l’atelier Punkt, Alice Jarry and Jason Cantoro, Nelson Henricks, Louis-Pierre
Bougie, Tammy Forsythe, Sylvain Bouthillette and Julie Faubert are among the
participating artists.
For the 3rd time in as many editions, the APO is partnering with Ubisoft Montréal. “For
almost 15 years now, Ubisoft creators are inspired daily by the Mile-End’s rich artistic
vibe. As a major company in the neighborhood, Ubisoft is proud to support this fertile
artistic ecosystem and contribute to its recognition when the opportunity arises”, Cédric
