the Modern Muslim World

2. • The war started with religious confrontations between
Catholics and Protestants. Then in its mid-end
politicized by intervention of political powers. But
successfully it resulted in a Peace Treaty

3. Religious Differences
• Interpretation of Quran and Hadith varies
from person to person
• Like Pope, nowadays teachings of Islam are
explained by Mullahs in the context which
serve their interest.
• Firstly their were sectarian differences in
Muslims but now its nearly impossible to find
any Muslim Mosque.

4. Catholics v/s
Protestants
Shia v/s Sunni

5. Economical Deprivation
Resources held by Church
• Church was getting more
and more strong by taking
indulgences.
Resources held by SA and Iran
• Ineffective Zakat system
• (Zakat and Khums)

6. Political Similarities
• For containment of
Roman empire many
political powers partook
in the war. France aided
and then came at the
forefront in the war.
• For fulfillment of their
interests big sharks like
U.S.A, Iran and SA are
giving fuel to the
burning & spreading fire
of sectarianism.

7. 1. Co-operation among Muslim states.
2. Revival of Muslim brotherhood ideology.
3. Countering terrorism & sectarianism.
4. A treaty like “Westphalia” is need of todays Muslim world.
