3. Sensationalism by Indian media
• Journalism is a medium of collecting, writing and reporting news, and
more broadly it includes the process of editing and presenting the
news articles. Journalism is not only restricted to publishing news in
the newspapers, but also includes, magazines, radio, and television.
•
Unfortunately, present Indian Journalism is plagued by sensationalism
and wrong reporting. Rather than making people aware of the on
goings around the world, it focuses on presenting an exaggerated,
distorted and perverted version of the most absurd an insignificant
events. This is what is know as “Yellow Journalism”.
4. Hafiz Saeed fake news
• Prominent Indian news outlets — including Asia news international (ANI), Times of India, Zee
News and DNA News— reported on March 2 and March 3 that a recently-surfaced video showed
Talha Saeed addressing a freedom rally in Pakistan on Kashmir Day (Feb 5), and inciting the crowd to
wage war against India using fugitive underworld don Dawood Ibrahim as an inspiration.
The Times of India reported:
"Talha is seen inciting a crowd to wage war against India using Dawood
Ibrahim's name.“
Zee News wrote:
"Pakistan-based underworld don Dawood Ibrahim may join jihadi forces against
India, JeM [Jaish-e-Mohammad] chief Hafiz Saeed's son Talha has reportedly hinted during a recent
speech.“
Zee News Reported:
"Talha has dropped enough hint[s] that Dawood would be actively involved in
planning and executing terror strikes in Kashmir and other parts of India."
5. Cont.…
• Falsification 1: The video was shot on Feb 5, 2017
The original video of the freedom rally — from which Indian media 'excerpted' the inflammatory bits — was
shared on video streaming website YouTube 5 months ago, according to the person who uploaded it.
The uploaded also said the video was shot on Sept 1, 2016 — not on Kashmir Day (Feb 5, 2017), as wrongly
claimed by Indian media
• Falsification 2: The video was shot in Pakistan
An opening shot from the original video shows a banner reading 'Ittehad-i-Millat Conference (Okey, Kulgam)'.
The video's up loader confirmed to Dawn.com that he had filmed the video at a freedom rally in Kulgam,
which is located deep in India-held Kashmir.
• Falsification 3: A lot of difference between Talha Saeed and the man in the
original video
6. CPEC misconception by Indian media
• Indian media viewed Gwadar as a large-scale naval mobilization program
by China and in a worst-case situation, Beijing could use these Navel bases
to threaten India's security, risk global sea lanes and challenge the United
States for regional naval superiority.
• India media also reported that, China's growing investment in Pakistan,
predominantly to fund a new batch of nuclear reactors to help Pakistan's
plans to add four new nuclear plants by 2020, with four more reactors in
the pipeline (adding up to a total power capacity of 7,930 MW by 2030).
Reason?
Since long India is also worried as it has its eyes on energy assets in Central
Asia and Afghanistan to fulfill its energy thrust, but China has eaten up many
of these in recent years.
7. Pathankot attack
• Indian media has started to blame Pakistan for the Pathankot attack
even before the initiation of official investigations.
• After unidentified attackers attacked an airbase in Pathankot, Indian
media claimed the terrorists belonged to Bahawalpur, Pakistan.
• Zee TV reported that the attackers had entered India three days ago,
while another news channel NDTV claimed that the aim of terrorists
was to destroy helicopters and aircrafts inside the airbase. Other
Indian media outlets also tried to win the race of making accusations
against Pakistan even before the start of any official investigation.
8. Uri attack (18sep 2016):
News 18 Report 18 Sep 2016:The Indian Army on Sunday claimed that the
four terrorists killed after they slaughtered 17 Indian soldiers in Jammu and
Kashmir were foreigners and belonged to Pakistan-based Jaish-e-
Mohammed outfit.
• The Director General Military Operations (DGMO), Lt. Gen. Ranbir Singh,
told reporters that some of the articles recovered from the slain terrorists
by Indian army had "Pakistan markings".
Falsification:
The news channel announced the said news on the same date
after some time without any investigation and blame Pakistan for it.
Although there is no evidence of Pakistani involvement in Uri attack
11. conclusion
Indian media is performing the role of lapdog.
They try its best to isolate Pakistan internationally, portraying the image
of Pakistan in bad way, blaming Pakistan as a sponsor of terrorism and
wants to declare Pakistan as terrorist state.
Beside this they are also securitizing Pakistani developments like CPEC
etc. They consider these developments as threat to their interests in
the Indian Ocean region and their national security.
