Two projectors ran at the same time,

projected one after the other in rapid
succession. Each seat had a special
viewer attached to the arm rest which
would revolving shutter in the viewer
ran in synchronization with the
projector shutters, blocking each eye's
view of the images intended for the
other eye, so that the users simply
positioned the viewers in front of their
eyes and looked through to see a
stereoscopic 3-D image.

• The 1954 film was shot with M.L. Gunzberg's
Natural Vision 3-D camera rig. This rig was
notable for being the same rig that started the 3-D
craze of 1953 with Bwana Devil and House of Wax.
• The movie was praised for it thrilling plot and in
2008 the American Film Institute released its Top
Ten List, which placed Dial M for Murder at ninth
in the mystery genre.
