The document discusses engine timing procedures and precautions for a 2.2 engine. It states that only trained personnel should perform repairs, adherence to procedures is required, and all necessary tools must be available and used as indicated. It also notes that the timing cover should be inspected for fouling and lists two potential cases - a timing belt cutting due to misalignment, and auxiliary belt failure causing timing disturbance.

Introduction to engine timing procedures and the importance of adhering to guidelines for implementation.
Inspection methods for timing cover focusing on areas vulnerable to fouling.
Discussion of timing belt failures due to fouling and misalignment, including corrective actions.
Analysis of auxiliary belt issues causing timing disturbances, along with consequences and precautions.
Specific procedures for engine timing highlighting critical steps to ensure proper function.
Tips for SuccessfulImplementation I would request you all also to kindly ensure followings Only trained person to attend the complaints on 2.2, 100 % adherence should be there to the procedure given. 100 % tools availability and usage of same. No deviation on procedure & guidelines given.

Timing Cover InspectionIt is suggested to open timing cover is and examine properly for fouling at front side (around vibration damper area ) & Inner side ( Idler bearing – black area).
Case 1: Timingbelt cut/fray from inside due to fouling with timing cover (plastic) Reason : Timing belt not running on pulley correctly ( i.e. misaligned)
Case 2 : Auxiliary belt drive (Alternator Belt & Compressor belt) failure resulting timing disturbance. Reason : Following are the reasons. • Alternator Pulley Nut loosening (Not torqued) • Vibration damper pulley Upper Ring Separation(fitted with non modified Vibration damper)
