209 EXECUTIVE AIRLIFT GROUP VISIT NAMA ABUJA
The newly appointed commandant of the 209 Executive Airlift Group at the Nnamdi Azikiwe
International Airport paid a courtesy visit to the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency Abuja. The
commandant and his entourage were received by the by the Airspace Manager Mr. N. N. Ugbaga and
some members of the management team of NAMA at the conference hall which is located at old Radar.
The commandant Air Commodore I. S. Kaita introduced his members of staff and officially presented his
self as the Commandant of 209 Executive Airlift Group Minna. He formally enlightens the house about
his office responsibilities. He told the house that the 209 Executive Airlift Group is charged with the
responsibility of airlifting of highly placed government officials and also V.I.P.’s. The commandant went
further by soliciting support and also hamper on the need of cooperation and cordial relationship among
the two bodies.
On his part the Airspace Manager Mr. N. N. Ugbaba also used the opportunity to introduce his members
of staff present and went further to by disclosing to the commandant of the existing relationship
enjoyed between NAMA and Nigerian Air Force. The Airspace Manager reiterated that the synergy
between NAMA and the Nigerian Air force is crucial and very important for smooth running of the
Airspace. The Airspace Manager pledged the support and cooperation of NAMA for the purpose of air
safety.
The Air Traffic Operations Manager Mr. Olayiwola J. O. used the opportunity to intimate the
commandant about the excellent performance of some of his officers who are undergoing training with
NAMA Abuja both at the control tower and radar.
Finally the Airspace Manager Mr. N. N. Ugbaga took the commandant on a facility tour at the radar and
explanations of the various operations at radar site were conveyed to their understanding. The
commandant presented a plaque to the Airspace Manager after his vote of thanks. The Airspace
Manager thanked the commandant and wished him luck in his new assignment.
