WELCOME!
As the Honorary Chair of the 2015 GovConNet Procurement
Conference, it is a privilege to welcome each of you here
today. The success of companies who secure business with
federal, state, local governments and each other directly
impacts our nation’s economy, job creation and growth. I wish
you every success in making the right connections to boost
your business and continue the growth of our economy.
	 Congressman Chris Van Hollen
Maryland’s 8th District
Welcome! Businesses who respond to government
procurements create a WIN – WIN situation. As the mission
of government agencies advance and expand to meet
public needs, the targeted response of businesses to
contracting opportunities is critical. Today’s Conference
provides you with access to information and each other.
This is a great day of commerce for everyone!

Building II, Room 2032 11:00am - 12:00pm
Session Description
The federal government continues to look for ways to reduce spending
through acquisition reform. One of those reforms is strategic sourcing
whereby an agency awards large multiple award contracts designed for
use government wide. While these vehicles may have cost savings in the
near term, they can be damaging to ongoing contracts, and to contractors
who do not receive these strategic sourcing awards. This panel will discuss
strategic sourcing, the pros and cons and the potential impact on small
businesses.
