This document outlines the agenda for the "Anthropology of Japan in Japan" 2014 Autumn Meeting held at Nanzan University in Nagoya on November 29-30, 2014.
The keynote address on the first day was given by Professor Akimichi Tomoya and titled "Benefits and a Disaster Calamity of the Sea – From the Meiwa Great Tsunami to the Great Disaster of Eastern Japan". It discussed lessons from past tsunamis like the 1771 Meiwa tsunami and the perspectives of anthropology on attributing natural disasters to human or divine causes.
The program included numerous individual paper presentations, panels, and special events over the two days covering topics
