6. Mets Awarded 2013 MLB All-Star Game
Major League Baseball and the New York Mets will hold the 2013 All-Star Game at Citi Field
on July 16, 2013. The 2013 All-Star Game will be the 84th Midsummer Classic.
It will mark just the second time that the Mets have hosted the All-Star Game, having also
done so at Shea Stadium in 1964.
Commissioner Selig said: "We are delighted to bring the Midsummer Classic to Citi Field, a
wonderful ballpark that has carried on the remarkable National League tradition in New
York City. The Mets will be superb hosts to next summer's greatest sporting event."

8. 2012: A Season of Amazin’ Milestones
First No-Hitter Twenty-Game Winner Most Hits
On the 8,020th game over 50 completed Knuckleballer RA Dickey had a Third baseman and the face of the
seasons, Johan Santana became the ridiculous 2012 campaign for the Mets, Mets, David Wright set many franchise

And of course, the Mets celebrated its amazin’ fifty years throughout 2012
9. 11/14/12: RA Dickey wins NL Cy Young Award!
RA Dickey completed an inspirational season of Major League baseball by leading the National
League in Strikeouts (230), Innings pitched (233.2), Complete games (5) and Shutouts (3). He also
finished 2nd in Wins (20) and ERA (2.73).
In addition to these amazin’ stats, RA pitched consecutive one-hitters and was the Mets first 20
game winner in more than two decades. During this stretch he also set a franchise record with 32
2/3 consecutive scoreless innings, later stretching it to 44 2/3 without an earned run.
RA Dickey is only the third member of the New York Mets to win this prestigious award.
10. SNY’s Broadcast Team
SNY’s broadcast team of Gary Cohen, Ron Darling, Keith Hernandez, and Kevin Burkhardt is
widely considered the best in baseball.
