This document summarizes Spain's strategy to promote reuse of public sector information (PSI) through open data initiatives. It established datos.gob.es in 2008 to foster a culture of PSI reuse among government, citizens, and businesses. The strategy aims to increase PSI availability and accessibility to maximize its value. Key elements include adopting an open-by-default principle, developing a PSI portal for data cataloging and applications, and engaging with stakeholders and an emerging infomediary sector of over 200 companies reusing PSI. The strategy is part of Spain's efforts to comply with the EU PSI Directive and realize economic and social benefits of open government data.
