Conclusion:
“…Although some of the observed
characteristics of the rough diamond
shipment inspected on 27 August 2008 at
the Customs office at Bamako International
Airport (Mali), could also be observed in
diamonds from other deposits (notably
Nimba, Liberia), only one known source is
consistent with all the observed criteria:
In conclusion, the observed rough diamond
shipment is NOT consistent with an origin in
Mali, Guinea or Sierra Leone.
The combination of all observed
characteristics of the rough diamond
shipment, can only be satisfactorily
explained by accepting a Bobi-Séguéla
origin, placing the diamond origin in
Côte d’Ivoire.”
