                Open Horse Show                        High Point Awards: 15 and Under
                                                       1-2-3-5-6-8-17-19-20-22-23-25-27
         Date: Saturday, September 15, 2012            High Point Awards: 16 and Over
         Where: Plowman’s Park, Big Rock, IL.          1-2-4-5-7-8-17-19-21-22-24-25-27
          Time: Starts promptly at 8:30 a.m.

                          EVENTS                       $$$ Calcutta – The audience bids to own the horse
   1)       Open Halter – English & Western            and rider for this event. All money bid is pooled and
   2)       Open Showmanship – English & Western       distributed to the wining “owners” based on
   3)       Western Horsemanship (15 and Under)        placement of the top three horses. First Place
   4)       Western Horsemanship (16 and Over)         receives 50%, Second Place receives 35% and third
   5)       OPEN Western Horsemanship                  place receives 15%. The Riders receive trophy and
   6)       Western Pleasure (15 and Under)            ribbons.
   7)       Western Pleasure (16 and Over)
                                                       ** Walk Trot, Lead Line and Grooms Class – Participants
   8)       OPEN Western Pleasure                      in these events are NOT eligible for any other
                                                       performance class. Lead Line riders are Not Eligible for
   9)       Lead Line**                                Walk Trot Class (18).
                                                       General Guidelines:
               *** JUST FOR FUN ***                         The Horse show is not liable for theft, accident or
   10)      Musical Cones                                      injury to rider, equipment or horse.
                                                            NO ONE under the age of 18 may show a Stallion
   11)      Open Command Class                              All contestants must wear proper attire except in
                                                               classes: 10-11-12-13-14-15-16-17-26
   12)      Egg and Spoon Race
                                                            The decision of the judge is final
   13)      Dizzy Stick                                     FIVE-minute tack change allowed if notified to the
                                                               announcers booth
   14)      Bribe Your Horse                                No entries are refunded
                                                            The Show Committee has the right to combine,
   15)      Bare Back Egg Toss                                 cancel or divide a class when necessary (3 entries
                                                               per class minimum)
   16)      Ride-A-Buck (bareback)
                                                            The Show Committee has the right to refuse check
   17)      OPEN Bareback Equitation                           or issue tabs
                                                            A $40.00 charge on all returned checks
   18)      Walk Trot**
                                                       If you have not been to the Big Rock Plowing Match Horse
   19)      Open Calcutta ($$$) Pleasure Class         Show before, we think you are in for a treat!

   20)      English Pleasure (15 and Under)            The Show is designed to be educational, fun and maybe
   21)      English Pleasure (16 and Over)             even financially rewarding. Cash awards are given to high
                                                       point winners and a general drawing at the end of the show
   22)      OPEN English Pleasure                      for $100.00 if you placed in any event. You must be
   23)      English Equitation (15 and Under)          available at the end of the show with your ribbon(s) in order
                                                       to claim your prize. No Stand-ins Please!
   24)      English Equitation (16 and Over)
   25)      OPEN English Equitation                    Our Judge was selected for the show to help you improve
                                                       your ride and make sure you are having FUN in the process.
   26)      Grooms Class**                             You may be in for a surprise in some of the classes.
   27)      Non-Blue Ribbon Winner Performance Class
                                                       AMPLE TRAILER PARKING IS AVAILABLE
                                                       Come early to also enjoy the rest of the fun and rides on the
                                                       grounds at the festival.

Phone Number: (630) 556-3501 - Ask for Bonnie          Route 30. To get to the park heading west, turn left off of Rte 30 on to
                                                       Rhodes Road. Cross over the railroad tracks and immediately turn right on
                                                       to Hinckley Road. Proceed approximately ½ mile west to Plowman’s park.
                                                       Enter through the main gate and proceed around the baseball field to the
                                                       trailer area.

Classes: $5.00 per event

We will take a lunch Break at approximately 12:30

The 28th Annual Big Rock Plowing Match Rules and Other Information Open Horse Show High Point Awards: 15 and Under 1-2-3-5-6-8-17-19-20-22-23-25-27 Date: Saturday, September 15, 2012 High Point Awards: 16 and Over Where: Plowman’s Park, Big Rock, IL. 1-2-4-5-7-8-17-19-21-22-24-25-27 Time: Starts promptly at 8:30 a.m. EVENTS $$$ Calcutta – The audience bids to own the horse 1) Open Halter – English & Western and rider for this event.
