This document summarizes research on user studies related to the Functional Requirements for Bibliographic Records (FRBR) model. It outlines gaps in FRBR user research, recent studies that engaged users, and a user study the authors conducted on existing FRBR prototype catalogs. Key findings were that users liked features showing relationships between works, expressions, and manifestations, but work displays were confusing. The authors are designing improved FRBR prototype interfaces and tasks to test users' understanding and preferences.
