I. PURPOSE
To establish documentation regarding the annual Inventory and Disposition Trends. This ACS annual
report is utilized by management to determine if ACS is increasing adoptions/redemptions and reducing
euthanasia.
II. POLICY
ACS provides information regarding the number of dogs and cats adopted, redeemed and euthanized in
a calendar year utilizing the Inventory and Disposition Trends Report. This report shows previous years
totals and the percentage of dogs and cats adopted, redeemed and euthanized (see sample A). Two
reports are generated from the Chameleon database to provide the annual data, which is cumulated into
an Excel spreadsheet by the Senior Office Supervisor or his/her designee.

V. PROCEDURE
The appointed Supervisor or designee runs the following reports from the Chameleon menu entering the
applicable starting and ending dates for the desired year.
NOTE: Reports should not be run until 10 days after the end of the year to ensure corrections and
updates have been completed. Prior to running the annual reports, check with the Shelter Lieutenant
assigned to reviewing the Questionable Due Out Dates Report (see attached showing incorrect year for
the due out date). If this report has not been corrected, it will negatively impact the annual report.
Under Accounting Reports on the Chameleon menu, select:
A. Outcome Summary Report
The Outcome Summary Report provides the number of dogs and cats adopted, redeemed and
euthanized. Enter these totals in the applicable column of the spreadsheet.
B. Intake Summary Report

The Intake Summary Report provides the number of dogs and cats released by their owners for
euthanasia. The live total of dogs and cats is the total number adopted, redeemed and
euthanized. Use the grand total to calculate percentages for each column.
