Trebuchet MS is a humanist sans-serif typeface designed by Vincent Connare for Microsoft in 1996. It is named after a medieval siege engine called a trebuchet. Connare designed Trebuchet to be legible even at small sizes for use on computer screens, with a large x-height and clean lines. Trebuchet works well for both headings and small text due to its adaptability to low screen resolutions.
