The Ad-Hoc mode for wireless communication is not used frequently. But the demand for Wi-Fi communication is continuously increasing as use of Smart-phones and Laptops has enormously popular recent years. Through Ad-Hoc mode users can communicate point to point with mobility feature without using any central BSS. Wireless Ad-Hoc mode uses electromagnetic wave and so this technology has losses and limitations caused by free space propagation media as well as attenuation for interferences.
This slide has been design for various students of undergraduates to familiar with internet and how it works and connects the world. it contains basic knowledge about internet, its architecture and its terminologies that is usually use with internet.

Dear Colleague,

Mr Eric .Julien
17 June 1988
I am pleased to provide a letter of reference for Mr Eric Julien, horn 10 June 1962. Mr Julien worked
in this group from October 1986 until Pehruary 1988 in replacement of his obligation for French
military service, and from March until May 19R8 as a freelance contractor.
.tt CERN we have almost 1000 IBM-compatible personal computers, and Mr .Julien was instrumental
in selecting the software which we now recommend for communication between personal and ·
mainframe computers. Under the general supervision of a senior software engineer, he installed, tested,
and evaluated numerous products. Ile also implemented software for PC disc backup over the
Ethernet network, and a package to allow access to a commercial version of the OSI Transport
Protocol from a PC program via a CERN standard calling sequence. We were very impressed by his
knowledge, technical ability, and mature approach.
In his final period as a contractor, he designed, implemented, and thoroughly documented, an
interactive program on a VAX computer to provide operator access to the control functions of the
CERN tern1inal switches. This project was carried out to our complete satisfaction within the agreed
timescale.
I can warmly recommend Mr Julien for any position as a software engineer, particularly in the area of
telecommunications.
Yours sincerely,
~~~
