A talk I've given during Twitch's Dev Day in Tel Aviv in 2019. I've been working on some Twitch extensions and apps for fun. In this talk I'm sharing what went right and what went wrong. During the talk, I did a quick demo of actually writing a demo, live, that shows your speedtest.net internet speed.
One woman offers a helping hand and support to another. She shares what little wealth she has through acts of kindness. As friends and sisters, they face challenges together, sharing stories and finding comfort in each other's company over a cup of tea. Though life brings difficulties like facing mortality, the bond between women helps them get through hardships as they support one another.

The document discusses youth unemployment and proposes solutions using information and communication technologies (ICT). It argues that the skills demanded by today's labor market focus on complex problem solving and pattern matching rather than routine tasks now performed by computers. ICT can help youth develop contextual skills for continuous learning and collaboration to create new ideas through knowledge and experience sharing. The team believes ICT provides a way to leverage these skills and fight unemployment endogenously by addressing today's complex challenges.
The document summarizes news from Mongolia's Business Council covering business, economic, and political topics. On business, it discusses mining company executives who see opportunities in Mongolia's growth. It also notes disagreements between Rio Tinto and Ivanhoe Mines over expansion plans for the Oyu Tolgoi mine. On the economy, it discusses Mongolia's dependence on China and policy debates. Politically, it mentions discussions between the President and MPs on national security and debates on foreign visitor policies.

Improving the developer experience on OpenShift - devconf-india-18Jorge Morales
Are you a developer? Are you one of those guys that likes easy? In this talk I’m going to present how we abstract away kubernetes and OpenShift to regular developers so that “easy becomes really easy”, and so that there’s no fear to any developer on using the potential of an amazing platform.
DevOps originated from the Toyota Production System which pioneered lean manufacturing practices like just-in-time production and continuous improvement. These concepts influenced early software development methodologies like agile, Scrum, and extreme programming. As software development aimed to deliver value faster, operations struggled to keep up, highlighting the need for closer collaboration between development and operations teams. In 2008, Patrick Debois coined the term "DevOps" to describe this integration. Since then, DevOps adoption has grown significantly, though its core goals of empowering employees, delivering value, and embracing change remain the same.

DevOps Done Right The How and Why of Versioning Environment ArtifactsPerforce
If you have ever been tasked with figuring out how to deal with large sets of files or large binaries in a version control system, you’ve probably had problems with performance, reliability and scalability. While there are workarounds that can address some of these issues, the workarounds introduce their own complexity that can be difficult to implement and support.
Gene Kim has talked many times (most recently at PuppetConf 2014) about the importance of not only versioning source code but other assets, too. Version control is more important than ever as more companies embrace DevOps and Continuous Delivery and Deployment.

Audience Question:
How many people here currently have an open rec for an SRE?
Leave your hands up if that’s been open for more than 6 months?
A year?
Permanently? Are you basically always looking for an SRE?
SREs always trying to automate themselves out of a job.
The cloud was supposed to eliminate the need for “Ops”, but instead, we need SREs with even more specialized skills.

Etc.
The Netflix SRE team handles production issues that go uncaught by other teams - if they affect customers or cause significant risk.
We also triage production issues when the cause is unknown or caused by an external service. DNS provider, AWS, Sony, Microsoft, Samsung.
Manage incidents, get the right people in the room, make sure that documentation is kept, schedule and MC the post-mortem.
We also write a bunch of tools -
Al is working on an Incident Managment Bot
Dave is working on great anomaly detection
Netflix writes a lot of tools.
Traditionally the developer writes the software, and hands it off to the “operator” to run the software. In our world, the developer writes the software, and the tools run it. It’s like a moving from a world where the ops was a chauffeur, to a world where the developer has a Tesla - it doesn’t quite drive itself, but we make sure the lane markings are clear and it will get you most of the way to work.
