industry and over 12 years practical plant and equipment experience with various mining, resource and

Auditing & ContractorManagement
Completion of various auditing courses equipped me with the skills and knowledge required to effectively
conduct RTIO internal, Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Management (EPCM) and Contractor
Management System (CMS) audits across Pilbara Iron - Projects to ensure corporate compliance.
My role includedconductingscheduledinternal auditstoensure compliance toRTIOstandardsviathe HSEQ
Audit tools and to manage or provide support to the Contractor Group in responding to ‘areas for
improvement’ identified through internal/external audits or safety interactions.
Working in a consultancy capacity, I completed audits and GAP Analysis reviewsof various companies to
identify non-conformance areas and develop actions to ensure corporate compliance, including the
development of the audit templates aligned to 22 Major Hazard Standards for Sons of Gwalia.
I have a clear understanding of the technical requirements for the development of safety management
systems through tertiary education in Occupational Health and Safety as well as a ‘hands on approach’ to
successfully manage and prepare major contractor groups to meet both RTIO Contractor Management
System compliance and qualification requirements.This required tender documentation and Safety Health
Management Plan reviews to ensure consistency and alignment to Rio Tinto’s HSEQ Management System
and contractual requirements.

Considerable experience has been gained in development, implementing and reviewing safety policies,
procedures and standards, including developing a new Master Service Agreement (HSE) to ensure
transparency and consistency for future agreements which could be applied across various disciplines with
external contractors.
I was instrumental in developing the contractor front end on-boarding processes for Engineering and Asset
Management(RTIO) relatingtostartupactivitiestoensure aconsistentapproachwasmaintainede.g.Project
Safety & Health Management Plans and L2 Risk Assessments. The process utilises AS 4801 criteria for
contractor scoring for pre-awardandthe ProjectSpecificSafetyManagementPlantemplate wasdeveloped
forpostawardtenderapplications. ThisalsorequiredtenderdocumentationandSafetyHealthManagement
Plan reviews to ensure consistency and alignment to Rio Tinto’s HSEQ Management System and all
contractual requirements
I also coachedand prepareda numberof contract managementcompaniestosuccessfullymeetContractor
Management System qualifications for RTIO. My competence has been demonstrated in auditing and
inspectiontoensure businessandlegislative compliance withinanappropriate safetymanagementsystem.
Manage Relationships
My role as H&S Superintendent involved providing soundleadership and management to a team of 11 Site
SafetySpecialists(directreports) whosupportedall aspectsof healthandsafetyateightprojectconstruction
sites in the Pilbara (WA). This required me to conduct regular site visits to provide support and mentoring
and to operate closely with appropriate stakeholders, including but not limited to the General Managers,
Project Managers, and EPCM /Contractor HSE Managers to ensure consistent application of Health, Safety,
Environmental and Quality Management (HSEQMS) standards across the Pilbara Projects.
I possess a high degree of self-motivation and the initiative to work well with all levels of the organization
and experienced in developing and maintaining key stakeholder relationships, maintain high integrity with
internal personnel andcontractorgroups across the business.Ialsohave a commitmenttoexcellence while
working and contributing to a culture driven by safety, quality and continuous improvement witha proven
track record of striving for zero harm.
I am currently employed as an Advisor – Health and Safety (8/6) and provide support, advice,systems and

opportunities for HSE improvement. I have completed the TapRooT® Incident Investigation & Essential
Factors Incident Investigation Training and have provided support, coaching and mentoring with relevant
