This article describes using citation analysis of faculty publications to measure citations to journals in a library's collection. At a cancer research institute in the Netherlands, over 200 journal titles were analyzed. About 10% of titles showed extremely low citation scores (<10 articles) and were considered for cancellation proposals to reduce costs. Citation data from research publications can provide objective data to inform decision-making about the journal collection.
