This document discusses using sensors on landing gears and wheels to measure friction conditions in real time for runways, roads, and high-speed railways. Sensors would measure the resultant elastic envelope upon first contact to determine the exact friction value based on load, speed, and angle of attack. These measurements could help establish more accurate physics laws governing friction under different conditions. Sensors would constantly measure braking time and distance in motion to provide real-time friction data for land transport.
